GIMP, the dds plugin support is limited and using any sort of compression (DXT1 - 5) makes the resulting picture black. I found a utility though that converts other formats to dds and I can get 340Kb size files now at DXT3.
The real problem is that normally when you are in a zone for the first time, the circle that uncovers the black fog on a map is quite a number of meters wide. Of course, the larger the zone that the map represents the smaller the circle of black that is revealed around where you are.
Forsaken city is not that large so the amount of map around you that should be revealed should be fairly large, however when I am running around the zone testing vertical transitions and horizontal alignment (I manually inserted the maps and zonerect into eq2map) the reveal is less than a coridor wide.
Was wondering if this is a setting that can be changed or if it is something that soe sets for a zone or if there is actually a problem with the way I have done it.
