Getting rid of landmark text/skill enhancement text
Hi there!
I was wondering if it was possible to get rid of the text that appears when you visit a landmark or for when you increase in a particular skill (swimming for instance)? Only on the screen though, not in a chat window.
The reason for this is because when I'm in the middle of a fight, I try to click on one of my hotbars, but this kind of text sometimes pops up, and stops me from being able to click on a hotbar selection (as it obscures part of it). I know I could move my hotbars, but I have them in a position I like, and there is always some sort of obscruction in other areas, such as "Fizzled" or the spell status bar or what not.
Surely it's possible to get rid of it, but if not, would it be possible for someone to create a mod that removed it, or even better, allowed a mouse click to be detected on the object behind (such as a hotbar option)?
If the text always appears in a chat window (I know that an increase in skill does, but does the message of you finding a landmark appear in your chat window?), then getting rid of it would not be a problem. But obviously it might be if the text doesn't appear in a chat window, and you don't know what landmark you are currently at (you might well need to know your landmarks at some point).
But really the main problems are the ones that are likely to appear during combat, but I include the landmark messages as I'm assuming it's controlled by the same code or what not, but this may well not be the case.
Any help would be hugely appreciated, as this is a very annoying problem!
Have a good one!

One of the easiest ways to remove this is to place it somewhere on your screen where it won't block your main targetting and then right-click (easiest to do this when visiting known areas / zones, it lasts longer), then click on Window Properties and turn it all down to nothing to show. Then lock the window and bam! It's no longer visible and no chance of it cancelling any chat text either, in case it would.
Not going to test that, hehe, cause I like mine poppin' up all up in my way.

Gonna see if I can make clicks drop through it, this would make it non-movable though, unless I leave a small area on it to "grab"...
Will post here with my findings.

That would be great! Maybe a small tiny pixel area to grab would be nice, then I can click into the boxes, etc.. behind it while all those quest updates are poppin' up. Sooo many windows, so little space.

Here's the window, you can click through it, but cannot drag it or right click it to change options. This means place it where you want it to be, then throw in this xml after it's set and never worry about it getting in the way ever again. I didn't add a spot that'll let you drag/click it because:
a) That means that spot could get in the way
b) I'm lazy

I thought of trying this to see if it worked (I didn't though for some reason! ), but the problem is that it will always obstruct something or other, such as either a target, a chat window, a hotbar, or indeed something else (unless you are lucky!). But I do agree with you though, I really wouldn't like to have to do without seeing the message, as it is nice to have.

Thank you very much, guys! I'll give this a try! I'm sure it will work great! I was a bit worried about all this, as I'd just downloaded a lot of other mods (such as the mini hotbars), but thought that I had wasted my time really, setting up a nice User Interface when I still had problems selecting what I want when I want.
I'll give the mod a go! Have you put it on the downloads section? (I'll have a check after this), as I'd be more than willing to leave a rating for it. I'm sure it will be 5 stars!
Thanks again! Will let you know how it goes after a bit of testing!
