Default want chat window to remember was typing in custom channel

Is there a way to setup my main chat window to remember I was typing in a custom channel so I don't have to type /1 or /6 (or whatever) every time?

For those that play WoW, the chat window will remember custom channels, you have to specifically type /p (or whatever) to switch the window to Party chat, then it will remember that channel until you switch it to something else.

EQII seems to do this with the game channels (group, say, ooc, etc) but not for custom channels.

Maybe it's just not possible?

If memory serves correctly, there's a default chat channel setting either in the window/tab options or via the right click context menu of the window.

Thanks, I checked on the chat options for my main chat window. I see the option to filter channels (which I do, I have 4 diff windows) but there isn't anything for the default channel.

Also, when I click on the little channel icon at the bottom of the window, I only see Say, Group, Guild, etc. My custom channels don't show up there, I'm assuming it's not possible to set a custom channel as default.
