Kudane's Journal Entry 2 - Halmark Quest
Ok, First let me define "Halmark Quest" these are quest you do specifically for your Class (for me to go from priest to cleric in this case).
As mentioned before I made a Kerran Priest. At about 8th Level I found the NPC that would give me my Quest to become either A cleric, druid, or shaman. One of these 3 choices will be the outcome of my Halmark Quest (I get to pick, and chose cleric....but I am getting ahead of myself).
The Quest NPC has your do a task as an example of EACH class you could become, IE I had to do something Cleric like, then something Druid like, then finally Shaman like. If You pay attention to the dialog, you will learn how the classes differ, and how they can fit into the world (and groups).
For me, it envolved some running around, a few mobs, and a lot of healing people (I chose cleric at the end, so that was ok).
The quest lasted from a little into 8th level to about 20% into 9th level and after I completed my final task, I am sent to an "instance" where I have to fight a baddy all by myself. (I understand everyone does, and they are always done by yourself). As soon as I beat the mob. I am awarded some loot (that fits for my new class) and a little coin, and a huge chunk of XP. (this is the final part of this multi-part quest.. soo the XP was well earned). I was so close to Level 10 (thats where I would change from Priest to Cleric) I went out and grinded out the last 5% on a few mobs.
DING!! (btw, its the same sound as EQLive). I become a Level 10 Cleric!
I will have to do this again at 20 for the next class step. But for now, I am happy Kitty Kleric (yes the mis-spell was on purpose)
On my next entry I will cover the basics of Leveling, Dying, and other basic "101" items.
Note: New characters now get a book upon becoming a citizen, and the last page list who you need to see for your Halmark Quest.
