Default Problem with Fetish Nightfal v9.9b

Hi! After a few months of playing EQ2 with just EQ2 map I decided to look for some new add ons which would hopefully enhance my game play. I've downloaded Fetish Nightfal, and ( I think) have followed the download and install instructions to the letter but will recap on what I know to be true! Note my OS is Windows Vista home edition.

Ok Nightfal zip folder is now resident in Everquest 2 folder..

I've extracted the files, The uncompressed folder is 12.9mb, and on opening it, there is a UI subfolder and an EQ2 ini file.. So all this is as it should be right?

After doing this I downloaded and installed Microsoft Net 1.1..

Then I went into the options of EQ2 map, and ticked the box which is to ask permission before overwriting MainHud.Map.

That should be me all set right?

Well I fired up the game went to see if the UI is working but, only have the option to use the standard one. Sorry if post is long winded, Im not very technical and didnt want to omit any important details. If anyone can help with where I may have gone wrong here it would be much appreciated!

The FetishNightFall_9_9b.zip contents should be extracted to the Sony\Everquest II\ folder which would create the folder structure like so:

\Sony\Everquest II\UI\FetishNightFall

There should already be a Default sub-directory in the \Sony\Everquest II\UI folder so you should now have:
\Sony\Everquest II\UI
Default
FetishNightFall

If you don't see this structure, you have extracted the files to the wrong sub-directory.

Did you check to see if you have a file named eq2.ini in your Everquest II directory (mine is in d:/Everquest II)? I believe you can create it with notepad.

My eq2.ini file has the following in it.

ics_maxcameradistance 60
cl_movie_enabled 0
cl_ui_subdir UI/
cl_ui_skinname FetishNightfall

The last two lines tells EQ to use the Fetish UI instead of the default UI.

From your description I think EQ is not being directed to the UI folder to load the new UI.

Good Luck
