Default Huge UI Problem

With Default User Interface: 5 Fps
Fullscreen, Without Default User Interface: 90 Fps

What can I do ? Have thought about different user interface and I'm open to try anything that is fast.

That is a huge amount of difference between your comparisions.

But yes, it is true that the UI slows down the framerate a lot.

It is due partly to the way that EQ2 displays text. The more chat windows you have, the more your system will slow down. In fact, the more of any window that is open, the more EQ2 will slow down

One of the quick ways is to clear your chat windows text is by right-clicking on the chat window and selecting "Clear Text" so that there is less text on the screen.

You can set chat windows to hide unless you move the mouse over them. I have heard that helps.

And I would also disable smooth fonts. In game, go to:
Options > User Interface > Game Windows > Smooth Fonts

Getting a new UI from EQ2Interface may not be an option because, even though they look smaller, most have extra windows that are displayed and may slow your performance down more.

I'll also see if I can find this chat window mod I saw once that removed shadows from the text which helped performance.

Default Thankis

Thanks man I found the smooth text and disabled it last night but didn't see that much improvement I'll try clearing the chat text more often and removing the combat tab and in general focusing on the text. It sounds like a big difference because it is, when I have the interface on it's like watching stopmotion animation being made but without it everything moves smother than on Eq 1. I'll reply later to say if it works better.

sounds to me like something more serious.. the default ui shouldnt be causing these kind of problems.

Try deleting the whole default UI folder and let eq2 redownload it should be found here - EverQuest II\UI\Default
also if you have see a file called eq2.ini delete it as well

Default Tophat

I already tried a different UI, same thing happened. I'm going to need to try something else, I am leveling and everything having to press F10 a whole lot to go from running fast to seeing what my health is at during a fight. Anything else ?
