Default New UI?

I've looked all over this site for SARS or something very similar to it for EQ2 and have found nothing. There wasn't a single thing I didn't like about sars and was hoping maybe if I posted someone might be able to make something very similar for EQ2. I know we don't have the same Hot Keys as did in EQ1, but was thinking maybe it could be done with the spell bars? For those that never used SARS, the personal stat window was on top of the Hot Keys windows 1 and 4 and when lined up correctly gave the full gauge, so you had two hotkey bars open at all times with your hp/mana bars at the top and personal stats listed inbetween the two hot key banks. I'll try to post a screen shot of the EQ1 version so anyone who doesn't know what it looks like can see it. The little box above the left chat box is the group box, and when grouped the members would be listed horizontally (or you could DL a mod to make it vertical). All the borders were a dull silver tone and when set up correctly was the most unobtrusive UI I have ever seen, all the windows faded out with no "background" so you could see right thru them. The target window (above the personal hotkey/stat bar) never got any smaller than that, but with the colors they used or the personal/group members(red for hp, and blue for mana) they didn't stand out so much that it was distracting (bright green and blue) The purple bar under the target, is the casting bar, and disappeared completely when not casting.

I would really love to see a UI as similar to this as possible, and have thought about trying it myself, but I haven't the time or patience to try and learn how, and it probably wouldn't end up well either!

Sorry for the long post!

I've thought several times about doing a SARS type UI as I used to love that UI as well.

Right now i'm working too much on Serenity to do that, but once Serenity is more complete and just into the maintenence stage I may very well do a SARS styted one.

However in the meantime you might take a look at Serenity, and more so as it develops as it is designed to be a very unobtrusive UI, yet still powerful.

The first screen shots of Serenity looks nice, but i noticed later changes, can you choose between the two?

The personal window and target window are a bit too large for my liking, (I prefer about half that size, with darker colors). Is the coin and mini inventory window always up, or is one able to close that? Also, do the TS xp bar and guild xp bar stay up all the time over the target, or can those be removed?

Sorry, I'm very picky!

Thanks for the quick reply though, and let me know if you do decide to do SARS!

Really the main differences between the stages of screenshots is the shrinking of the gauge size and inventory window. Your post makes it sound like you preferred the first screenshots, but those were with the LARGER gauges so i'm a bit confused I think the smaller gauges are more your style since you said you wanted smaller player/target windows.

The inventory window can be open full, docked, or hidden completely. Up to you. It can be toggled as normal visible/invisible with the hotkey (defauntl I) and even remembers its previous state. So if you have it docked and hide the window, next time you show it it will still be docked.. If its full size when you hide it, it comes back fullsize.

The experience window is a customizble window. Its a 3 way window. You can show all of the 3 gaugues, 2 of the gauges, or only 1 gauge depending on what you want. Just resize the window and it works like magic

Also the player and Target windows can be resize to hide/show the effect icons as desiured.. And the player window can also be resized to hide/show both effects and concentration if desired.

Hm, is this one posted somewhere to DL? or do you have a link? I'd like to try it.
Also, is this UI compatible with the EQ2maps from this site?

Mostly what I like best about the first screen shots were the colors of the borders, is had kindof a sars feel to it, the size was a big larger than i prefer though, sorry for not being clear on that

Ahh you mean the silver instead of gold. Eventually I will be releasing various color packs including silver borders. They are really buggy right now which is why i'm stickign with the default gold until I have the tim eot fully reskin them all for silver. That will happen eventually though.

Other than the silver the other visual difference was that in the first screenshot I had borders and backgrounds ON and aligned the windows into a mod HUD style interface whereas the other screenshots had the borders and backgrounds OFF and were more loosely laid out to show the flexability

As for downloading.. it was posted earlier today.. look in the complete interfaces section it should have been approved by now.
