well... personally, I'm done with WoW. after a year of playing, 3 lvl 60s (leveling is MUCH faster in WoW than EQ2), and getting most of my top end gear, there's just nothing left to do.
the mechanics of WoW are much more simplistic than EQ2. tradeskill, classes, group strategy.. they're all pretty 1-dimensional.
WoW is very easy to start playing, but that was its downfall for me. I'm an ADD freak, so once I learn everything there is to know about something, I get bored almost instantly. when leveling my 5th character, I suddenly realized I had memorized all of the quests from lvl 1-60... so what's the point in doing them again?
is it a fun game? absolutely.
will it keep you entertained for a long time? definitely.
is the community made up of the most immature, hostile, rude people on the planet? sadly.. yes. finding a decent group of people is tough.
is it unbelievably imbalanced? ya, but what MMO isn't? if you play WoW, go horde. they have shamans, the best racial abilities, and very convenient travel.
so... yea. it's worth playing, I just see getting more time out of EQ2 given the variety and complexity of it. WoW is like the weekend gamer's MMO. you can play every so often and still get the full experience. EQ2 is for hardcore nerdlings that like to overcomplicate.. well.. everything.
