Default EQII servers - geographical locations

Is it possible to find out where, geographically, the EQII servers are located? I would like to pick a server closer to home if possible to avoid lag.

Is there a webpage that has this information?

That would be a great idea but I have never seen any posting for location of servers for EQlive. That is besides US and then other contries but never saw any postings from Sony on locations of servers inside the US... Maybe I just never saw and there is actually a posting some where. Hope so that would be cool.

aside from ubi softs, i think they're all in san diego

and there's no web site to find that out, they won't even release server names till launch day.

That's pretty crappy... How will people decide what server to play on with all their friends that live on the other side of the country?? *sigh*

Yes just like EQ1 started all US servers are located in San Diego, California. If they follow the same thing as EQ1 later servers will be placed around the US as needed.

Use a phone and contact your friends and discuss what server you guys will play on. Or use an e-mail, thats how me and my friends from EQ on Veeshan server do things. All servers are based in San Diego, and be patient with servers and such, ive gone through 4 years of unexpected server downs or crashes, its expected with an ever-changing game like EQ and EQ2

well, there is sort of a way you can find out what location they are at, thru the tracert command. example: go to the command prompt, and type blackburrow.everquest2.com

the name of the server indicates that it is in san diego.

I just spent half an hour looking for an old thread on my EQ1 guild's message board where we decided where to start our new guild in EQ2. It was between Blackburrow and Mistmoore. We chose Blackburrow because it is a west coast (San Diego) server. Mistmoore is an east coast (Washington D.C. if I remember correctly) server. I know we had a full list of the servers (3 international, 1 roleplay and 8 regular) and their locations in that thread...those are the only 2 I can remember off-hand.

Okay...we know Blackburrow is in San Diego and Mistmoore is on the east coast. I'm in San Diego, as well. Here's my stateside-server ping list (probable relative geographic location in parenthesis):

Blackburrow: 16ms (west)
Mistmoore: 83ms (east)
Befallen: 82ms (east)
Butcherblock: 18ms (west)
Crushbone: 83ms (east)
Everfrost: 13ms (west)
Faydark: 91ms (east)
Grobb: 18ms (west)
Guk: 15ms (west)
Highkeep: 16ms (west)
Innothule: 82ms (east)
Kithicor: 20ms (west)
Lavastorm: 16ms (west)
Najena: 17ms (west)
Nektulos: 13ms (west)
Neriak: 14ms (west)
Oasis: 82ms (east)
Oggok: 17ms (west)
Permafrost: 85ms (east)
Steamfont: 76ms (east)
Toxxulia: Down or not located at toxxulia.everquest2.com, tox.everquest2.com or toxx.everquest2.com
Unrest: 14ms (west)
Antonia Bayle: 14ms (west)
Lucan D'lere: 18ms (west)

International for reference:

Innovation: 91ms
Runnyeye: 89ms
Storms: 165ms
Valor: 160ms
Splitpaw, Japan I, Japan II: can't find em

I do know for a fact that some servers are located in San Diego and others are on the east coast.
