Glad you got the first thing working.
As for the Item Notes, I'm not sure. I tested out items with Apostrophes and dashes and the such and they should be working fine. But it is a new feature and needs the testing work from others
It might be the initial saving of the apostrophe items that needs looking into. Ones that already have notes will probably work.
