Try not to post in 5 different spots asking the same question.
I personally haven't used that method. I'd highly suggest using Mapper2 live to map out something in real time if you wanna see your map while you gather locs.

You'll often have to refresh the map by toggling the auto-parse checkbox, but the program works very well.

After I'm done mapping in Mapper2 live, I then save the file and load it in Inkscape.
