Well, the .ini method always worked for me when I needed to recover a window. I'm sorry that it won't work for you.

And as far as I know you can delete the "original_uisettings.ini". At least I don't have it.

If it does not work, you likely installed it incorrectly. Always try a clean install before reporting bugs.
