what is different now?
I cannot stand the gigantic bags. Tried twice to install smaller bag UI's. Neither has worked. Did they change how this is done? I did everything this said to do:
http://www.eq2interface.com/forums/f...q_new_faq_item Am I missing something? I used to keep all my UI stuff in this folder, until LU29 when I decided to start over. Tried 2 use post-LU29 bag UI's and neither did anything. Might be something simple I'm forgetting or missing or it might not. Appreciate the feedback. |
As a test move your server_name_eq2_uisettings.ini file to a location outside of your Everquest 2 folder. The game will automatically create a fresh file for you the next time you run the patcher. If you still don't see the changes then something else might be wrong and we'll go from there.
|
That did not work :(
|
1) Make sure your eq2.ini skinname is pointing to the custom UI directory.
2) Make sure your eq2.ini isn't actually eq2.ini.txt (common mistake if extentions are not visible) 3) Make sure the bag mod is U29+ |
Its pointing to the right directory, read somewhere that if you reverse the order in the .ini it might help. Try that after work. Damn SOE tweakers...
|
Didn't work either. Looks like I'll have to un-install and re-install :(
What other files should I save besides the server_name_eq2_uisettings.ini files? |
There isn't any reason to reinstall what so ever, unless you just like watching the ugly patcher window lol.
post the contents of the eq2.ini file. Also if you are using some other language then US English then your UI directory isn't eq2/ui/. If you have a LP_REGION_??_?? ( ?? = wild card) then this is where you need to put your eq2.ini file. |
OK here it is:
cl_ui skinname munch cl_ui_subdir UI/ cl_ui_skinname EQ2MAP cl_ui_subdir UI/ no language files other than english, the american version lol |
Hmm..try deleting the last two lines. You don't need to direct it to use both folders.
|
That is correct. You should only have 1 custom UI folder and all mods should be within that folder.
|
OK I moved it, that is where the map updater put it for some reason. Went to login before work to see and low and behold! another patch. Good news is Vanguard looks awesome, bad news is soe will be involved with it too. :( :( :( :(
My kingdom for a NON-soe game. Them tweakers ruin everything and they are batting 1000. |
There are plenty of Non-SOE games out there. If that's what you want then by all means go check them out.
BTW, the patch today was a small hotfix that tool about a minute to download and install. I for one an glad that SOE cares enough to continually issue hotfixes whenever they are needed. |
LMAO and no that didn't work.
|
/sigh
The location for your eq2.ini file should be Everquest II/eq2.ini The text of your eq2.ini should read as follows: Code:
cl_ui skinname munchIt should contain all your custom UI files. If all of the above is true, running the eq2maps updater should automatically put all the map related files needed into Everquest II/UI/munch/eq2map There is an FAQ that covers all of this in detail. |
yep, have all that and nope eq2 map puts the file folder here:
D:\Games\EverQuest II\UI\EQ2MAP and then creates a path to it in the eq2.ini as well as puting everything else here: D:\Games\EverQuest II\UI\Munch not sure why it splits it now, it all used to work before lu29 |
When you open the eq2map updater, does it say "UI Directory: Munch" or does it say "EQ2MAP" instead under the progress bar?
Also, make sure your eq2.ini file looks like Zonx posted... you can't have two sets of stuff in there... it should have ONLY what Zonx posted, and not mention eq2map at all. |
ok I have come to realize I know as much about this if not more than who has responded. I don't mean to offend, but I have gone over all of this already....a couple times(prior to even posting). Only 1 thing new have I learned, and it hasn't changed a thing so may not even be true, the eq2.ini should only point to my ui folder. Thank you all for your time. I'll figure it out myself ;)
|
Best of luck to you.
Some of the folks in this thread teach SOE things about their UI. But we can't help you if you don't give us the info we need -- When we get a general problem, we can only give a general solution. If you don't like all the 'tweaking' the modders here do, stick with the default UI. |
