creating links
anybody played with this at all? its possible to create a few different types of links, by simply examining the logs i've figured some things out.
the basic syntax? \a<link type> <parameter> <parameter>:<parameter/text shown?>\/a an item for example would be \aITEM <itemid#> <item name>:<item name>\/a or \aITEM 179704061 goblin meat:goblin meat\/a a person might be like \aPC -1 sardiaxx:sardiaxx\/a \aPC 5278653 sardiaxx:sardiaxx\/a i'm wondering if anybody else has looked at this at all, and what kind of links we can make. would be wonderful if we can automate harvesting item ids and names from logs and submitting them to a database, then perhaps somehow having that database available with a tool that will copy a properly formatted link to the clipboard. anybody start something along these lines, or have any interest/idea how to start going about doing this? figured i'd share this little bit with you guys and see what you thought. |
Nice find! Having trouble getting it to actually work, but I'm in a rush. :p Anything else would be great.

the problem with the item links is that it only works if the id number matches the right item name in the second and third parameters. should work just by copying and pasting into any eq2 window, or type out the string exactly.
the name links are a lot more forgiving, Code:
\aPC <any number> <any name>:<any name>\/a |
In case anyone else is messing with this:
Suppose I'm typing \aPC -1 Miras:Miras\/a If everything from the first \ and the : disappears as soon as you type the colon, that's normal. :p Ditto with \/a |
So basically it's good for linking normal items, like in a macro you make or something, but not fake link stuff?

I think it would be something cool for these databasing sites to have and use. A copy and paste link for EQ2 to check out items ;)
