Yes thank you so much! That fixed the issue with the group window. I will check the raid window later today. One more thing I found though. I see on the setting tab there is a check mark box for effects placeholders. I assume that is for dots (arcane, elemental, nox and curse)? On my group and raid windows I just have black boxes instead of what I assume should be the placeholder icons unless I am mistaken. I have the box check marked in the group and raid window settings but I still can't get the placeholders to show. I again assume I'm missing something.

The detrimental icon placeholders are single-pixel, open gold frames that should look like the Raid window shown on this page, fourth image down from the top. The gold frame is a default style, so I'm not sure why you are getting black boxes. Are you using one of the custom color themes? If so, try choosing the default red or blue theme from the options window on the updater. If that fixes the frames, re-download and reapply the custom theme.

sorry that I didn't see the new posts fast enough for sending you my files.
The new group window is working perfectly since the last update!
Having 5 active toons this is really great
I can tell more about the raid window tomorrow evening CET time.

Extra character tabs in group window?

Greetings,
I apologize if this has already been asked before - I did check for it, but I use a screen reader due to very low vision, and sometimes it doesn't play nice with forums for some reason.

My question is regarding the group window character tabs in the Window Utility. Is there any way for us altaholics to add additional character tabs?

Re: Extra character tabs in group window?

If you want to change which characters appear in the tabs in the group part of the utility, click Quick Setup, choose the characters you want from the popup lists, then click the Setup button. After the utility finishes auto-assigning the quick cast buttons, click Save if you want to use those; if you do not want to use the automatic selections then click Cancel instead. This will change the characters on the tabs without making any changes to the group window for those characters; if you have made customization for those characters this is what you will want to do in order to not overwrite your customizations.

Adding more alt slots to the standard DarqUI would mean retooling pretty much the whole interface and utility. It can be done, but it would be a major update, not just a few lines added here and there unfortunately. On the other hand, the newer DarqUI Live can configure any number of alts and it's almost exactly the same interface, with only a couple of exceptions. Are you using the scalable group window in the standard DarqUI? Please check your private messages on this website, I have a couple of questions for you.

I gotta ask, have you ever considered making some of the windows more space effecient? Mostly the tradeskill and merchant windows.
Cause like, the tradeskill window, is Massive, all those extra green/blue bars when you have the perfectly good one at the top, is just unessicary.
And the merchant window, you can only see like, 3-5 items at a time and merchants usually have dozens and dozens at least. If one could shrink the icon and text size of the items for sell, or maybe make the window more space effecient so we can increase the size of the actual item list, would be amazing.

I think it would make this UI mod perfect imho ^^

I agree the tradeskill window is big but there are 6 different crafting/experimentation panes that have to fit vertically in the frame, not just the recipe list and four-bar combine pane. I could trim a little bit of extra space out without completely changing the look and feel, but it would only save 100 pixels or so -- not much improvement. Modders have been reworking the tradeskill window since the game started, but most of the results are too funky for me.

any kind of shrinkage would help, cause geez that tradeskill window is so unnesesarily massive x.x

isnt there a way to like, shrink the icons in the tradeskill and merchant windows? cause the icons for the crafts and ingredients or puchases are pretty big and i know some other ui mods have managed to shrink them and it saved on space o.o

Request for sound alert on the personal spell monitoring window, would be awesome if we could put a click sound every time our Prestige count becomes ready.
I really REALLY would love for the spell monitor window to only display the active ones and have more up to 20 like the one in drumsUI.

The tagging mob Monitoring window would Be REALLY awesome if it watched for Emote or attack Text (orange and Red) as well. I think a Great Improvement would also be to add a (QES)Quick Encounter save Button. This button would save the Spells you are tracking to the mobs name from the Target and/or implied target window. to the drop down box. I think this would also improve things and make it lot easier with fast moving groups.

Prevent emotes if spell can't be cast

Hiya Darq:

I was wondering if is possible in the Group/Raid click cures/spells to prevent text from appearing if a spell can not be cast. For example: group or raid emote Casting SPELL on TNAME. Say in this case the spell being Cure Magic. Perhaps the spell hasn't cycled yet and can not be cast, but when you click the Grp/Raid button the text still appears. And if this text can be prevented from appearing because the spell didn't cast can be done can it also be done for spells that can't not be cast because the person is out of range or dead? Just an idea to prevent minor spamming

Bloodcell: Sounds were originally intended in the spell monitor, the reason they are missing is because the "schema" for how the interface saves variables would have required reworking, which would affect more than just the new monitor window. It can be done, but there is another internal project that will need to come first. As far as hiding the inactive icons, the idea was to have a fixed spot on screen for each monitored spell so you know where to find it each time. If the list collapsed to hide the inactive spell choices, you would basically have another Maintained window with icons hopping around, which is the thing I was trying to avoid.

Both of your other ideas are good ones. I have a project in the works to monitor the on-screen message "red text" window, and the quick save for NPC spells would be a super useful feature. I'll have to think about that one. Thanks for posting.



Accredo: This is a good idea, like a Cure Check for chat and macro commands. I would also like to see the spell/cure chat text be more accurate. But this is more complex than it may seem, probably requires some communication between the group/raid window and the player's casting bar. Click the spell icon, then wait a split-second and check the casting bar to see if it was cast. Definitely something to play around with.

Hi Darq, thanks for the reply and explanation. If the above grp/raid window setup is to involved, are you able to mirror the feature Drums has incorporated with the spell timer which prevents any text if the spell is not cast when clicking a hotkeyed spell.
