Current Version of Classic XP Bar (Tradskill XP)

Description
This is a Modified Version of my Both XP Bar Mod. For those that wanted all the information such as Class & Level, Current Zone, % into Level with Decimal Point, and % Death Debt. But did not want both bars showing all the time. This Mod works the same as the Default UI's Experience Bar does, if you right click on it, you can switch between the Combat XP or Tradeskill XP.

Thanks to the Authors of Tablets II Beta 3 for showing me the light on how to enable the Decimal Point percentage. This mod is also available here without the Decimal Point.
************************
Updated 3/21/2005 - Brought the code up to date with the 3/21/2005 Changes.
************************
Updated 3/9/2005 - Updated to eliminate an issue when you are mentoring another player. If you are mentoring you Adventurer Level appears differently and caused the Level Value to move up and to the left slightly. This has been fixed.

************************

Update [2/7/2005] Updated to include the Vitality % after the Death Debt. This mod does not include the additional graphics introduced on the 2/1/2005 patch. There is a seperate download for the version with additional Vitality Graphics for the XP Bar.
******************************************************
Update [2/1/2005] Updated for those that do not wish to see the additional Vitality Info. This version includes XP precentage for Tradeskill (SoE Fixed it on the 2/1/2005 patch) and Tradeskill Death Debt display. The Vitality Versions will be a different download.

****************************************************
Update [1/25/2005] Found and fixed a bug that appeared after making the Window Resizable, the DeathDebt Progressbar was missaligned and overlapped the Right Side of the XP Bar Container.
**********************************************
Update [01/23/2005] Made the Zone Name Bold, and the Window is now resizable.
*****************************************
Update [12/15/2004] Fixed an issue with the Decimal Point Precision. The 2 decimal point precision was not working so I have fixed the mod to use a single decimal point precision.
*****************************************
Update [12/12/2004] Found and Fixed an issue with the Adventure XP% and Debt XP% trying to wrap to the next line when they get too high. And the Decimal Place not working correctly (i.e. it displayed 0%.0%). I tested the UI Mod on a Character that was 0.0% into Level with 0% debt, as well as a Character that was 124.81% into Level with 206% Death Debt to ensure that the lines do not try and wrap to the next line.

I installed this mod shortly before leveling. After I leveled I noticed that there are now 2 % signs. One immediately before the decimal point and one after the displayed decimal places.

So 9.42% shows up as 9%.42%

Anyone else getting this?

I have made an update that is being uploaded on the Evening of 12/11/2004. I was working on fixing and updating my other UI's and made an adjustment to the way I display the Adventure XP xxx.xx%, this update should fix the 0%.03% error you have found (many thanks to Talyns the author of Tablets II beta for showing me the way to do it), and to the Area that displays the Debt XP%. To test the UI Completely I used a character that was 124% into Level and 203% Death Debt to ensure that it will display properly. Thanks for finding that bug and one you have downloaded the new version, it should all be fixed. Please keep me informed if you all see any more bugs in this mod. I want it to be right and useful.
Thanks,
Humudce

There is a huge bug in your mod.

The numbers after the decimal points are not real exp values, they are just readings off the blue gauge.

Since the blue gauge is the maximized version of 1/10 of the yellow gauge, its first digit will always be the same as the last digit of the reading off yellow gauge.

In other words, 12.25% in the display represents 12.5% exp
34.42% represents 34.2%.

So it seems that you can only archieve the precision of 1 decimal point instead of two. Can you fix the mod and get rid of this faulty display?

I also noticed the extra number in the % of the XP bar. 32.26% adds an extra 2 for some reason, even though the bar reads 32.6%. Removing that extra value, in this case the 2, would help remove some of the confusion.

Love the bar though, helps a lot to tell which instance your in for areas with long names, like The Thundering Steppes.

I will get it fixed and re-upload both the Classic and Both Bar Versions. Thanks for clarifying that issue.

Uploading the 1 Decimal Point Precision Versions as we speak. That should fix the issues found with the 2 Decimal Point not reading accurately. New version should be available as soon as they are approved.

Installation

Do not do these steps while EverQuest II is running.

1. Make a folder named MYMODS in your EQ2/UI Folder
2. Unzip archive to MYMODS Folder..
3. Two files should be unziped into this folder
4. Go back to your EQ2 folder
5. Open an empty Notepad and cut and paste code below into it

Code:
cl_ui_skinname MYMODS
cl_ui_subdir UI/
6. Save As EQ2.INI in your main EQ2 Folder
7. Load EQ2 and Login.. The UI Mod should appear

NOTE: You can name MYMODS folder to any name you want just replace any reference to MYMODS to your folder name. I.E. In the Instructions and Code Above. You can also add any other Mods you download to this folder, and EQ will read them also.

WARNING: At this time the /load UI command is not working as designed, please do not use this command to load this Modification.

Hope that this helps.

Tradeskill Display?

I will add the Tradeskill XP% just as soon as SoE fixes the Dynamic Data call out for the Tradeskill XP, it is currently broken.

See this post for more info...

Merry X-mas from Germany

Great work. I decided to leave out the location info.

One question... Is it possible to show the debt as the difference of the shown values (Format 999.9 %) ?

I mean that the blue bar and the experience value sometimes show different values. After relogging they're right, but ingame sometimes they show different values. Is it a visualization error of the blue bar and the shown value ist the right one ? Or ist it a refreshing problem ?

Excelsior,
Koshii

Well it is possible to do math in standard XML (i.e. the actual Debt Value would be DeathDebt XP (as currently displayed) minus Actual XP into Level would equal you actual Death Debt XP. Unfortunately the implementation that SoE has used does not support the Math Functions.

On a side note to this, I don't think the current way Death Debt is displayed is what SoE intended it to do. The reason I say this, is they have attempted to fix the Death Debt XP display on the Test Server. Currently on the Live game if you do not have Death Debt it displays as 0%, but on the Test Server if you have 0% Debt it displays as a Negative number mirroring your currennt XP %. I.E. if you are 72% into Level the death Debt appears as -72%. So for example now if you are 72% into Level and have a Displayed Death Debt of 78% on my version (your Actual Death Debt is 6% 78-72=6), thier version on the test server displays 72% XP and 6% Death Debt instead of 72% XP and 78% Death Debt. Please note this change is currently on the test server and may not make it to the live servers. Also note if they do implmenet this fix it will likely break my UI Mod, as the Death Debt if you do not have any will appear as a Negative Number Version of your current XP%.

I will have to investigate this. Can you possibly take a screenshot of it, and e-mail it to me?
Again thanks for the Feedback, and Happy New Years all.

Not loading ?!?

The mod doesnt seem to load, i did everything you said, i even tried reversing the lines in eq2.ini as told elswhere on the board, even that doesnt work. I even checked if i accidently saved it as eq2.ini.txt, but that aint the case either.

New Issues as of 1/6/05

I know this is an issue now. I saw the problem on Test Server, and since it's a change on the Server Side and not the Client Side, I am not sure how I am going to be able to fix this issue. SoE Changed the code on the server to more accurately display the actual Death Debt you have. To do this they have made the Death Debt follow your Adventure XP as a Negative Number equal to your XP so that when you have 3% Death debt it shows as 3% and not your Current XP% plus the 3% as it did before.

Possible solutions to this issue are welcome, and I am aware of the situation. One possible solution I have right now is to remove the Death Debt XP from the UI Mod. What would everyone like to see? Are you all OK with the -% or should I remove the death debt completely.... I am here for all of those players using my interface, what would you all like to see? Please feedback here or on the Message Boards.

Couldn't you make a formula like if xp debt= -x then display 0%?

The problem is, all we have to work with is XML. XML isn't code, so there's no way to put a formula in it. If the code allowed us to put a formula in the XML, and would then calculate the result for us, we could display the correct debt %.
