Hi Darkwood,

would it be possible to integrate Drums Spell Timer (http://www.eq2interface.com/download...pellTimer.html) into your UI as well (or similar functionality)?

If in add Drums spell timer to yours then then the layout of the save action of the UI settings gets garbled.

Futhermore, it would be great if I could disable the "Darq UI Settings" button on some/most Windows (currently I sometimes click them in the heat of the fight)?

Cheers,
Nodor

Re: Re: Need to do /loadui after switching to another character/account (v.1.00.1)

Hello Darqwood,

I deleted the "eq2ui_mainhud_persona.xml" file under "I:\Sony Online Entertainment\EverQuest II\UI\EQ2Interface" and restarted the game.

The situation is same as before, except that there is only "Biography" notes, no "My Notes/Shared Notes" (I guess it is normal as it is now a SOE Persona window). The scroll bar/mouse wheel issue still exists.

I then run DarqUI Live 1.00.1 which created a new Persona xml file under the custom UI folder. I restarted the game, now the issue is gone, the persona windows (and the scroll bar) is back to normal.

It is a marvellous job Darqwood, thank you so much.

Thanks again.

Thanks for posting your test results. I admit I have not seen any of this happen, but if I can reproduce the behavior I'll get it straightened out.

Good to hear, Zarnyk. Also to you and FieryArcher, I believe the issue with the character stats is corrected. It turned out to be a different issue altogether. Use the updater to get the new file, and let me know if this does not fix the strange behavior of stats and personal notes.

But if you switch back to character A without restarting the game or reloading the UI, you will only get whatever customizations that were on disk when you started the game session. This holds true for every custom setting in the UI, including all five of the spell icons in the group window, not just certain slots. The good news is that once you get your characters set up initially, restart once and all of your settings will be there as you switch around between characters from that point forward.

When I first designed the Live version, the decision to write it this way was done with the intention of keeping the code very lightweight and compatible with the original DarqUI. In practice the Live interface has proven to have minimal impact on performance, and so I can probably "afford" the extra code involved in making all settings stick without requiring the user to log out initially. I get this question a lot, so you will probably see this improved behavior in a future version. I appreciate your comments, feel free to post again with any questions you may have.

Incidentally, when you save settings for a spell icon remember to click OK in the confirmation pop-up window once for each of the five parameters. It's not enough to click all of the save buttons and then only click the OK confirmation once. The small "save" buttons do not actually save anything, they simply raise the OK confirmation window which is where the actual saving occurs.

Need to do /loadui after switching to another character/account (v.1.00.1)

Upon the launch of ToV, I updated DarqUI Live from version 1.000 to 1.00.1 and then ran the updating process.

When I use "/camp <character name>" to switch to another character or use "/camp login" to switch to another account, the loaded character's "Adventure/Tradeskill/General" windows become blank, and the "Biography/My Notes/Shared Notes" windows behave strangely.

At the first time I use DarqUI Live 1.00.1, it also happened to the Mercenary Window but I did a "/loadui" to fix it, and it has no more issue thereafter.

I have the following test after today 11.19.2013 patch:-

Logon to a/c1 chararter A - Everything ok, but scroll bars of Persona
windows don't work, only the mouse wheel
works for the purpose

/camp character B - "Adventure/Tradeskill/General" become blank
Notes windows seems to load text wrongly

/camp login a/c2
load character C - "Adventure/Tradeskill/General" become blank
Notes windows seems to load text wrongly

/camp login a/c1
load character A - "Adventure/Tradeskill/General" become blank
Notes windows seems to load text wrongly
use "/loadui" and load DarqUI,
"Adventure/Tradeskill/General" back to normal
but all "Biography/My Notes/Shared Notes"
windows have the same content.

The scroll bar of those windows having one doesn't work, only can use the mouse wheel.

It seems that the "Persona" windows have some bugs. Is this a SOE issue or do we need to do something to the settings in EQ2.INI file?

Thanks.

p.s. The issue I encountered seems similiar to those Zarnyk has, i.e. EQ2 client does not load/use all the DarqUI xml files. Just a guess.

Group Window Customization

Darq,

I would also like to reiterate all the comments about how great your UI's are. While everyone raves about ProfitUI, IMHO, it doesn't come close to your DarqUILive set.

With that said, I think I need your help explaining what I may be doing wrong with the group window customization process. My problem is I customize the 5 spell icons to cast the spells I want, and then click all saves associated with that spell; name, icon, background, etc. The group window customization stays with me from zone to zone, no problems. But when I log out onto another character or out of game and then back on to the original character, the spell gem icon and or icon background is gone or changed. The spell is still there, but the icon information does not save. This is the same situation for at least 3 of my 13 toons. Now, this doesn't happen to all spell icons or spell slots... I'm going to do more investigations, but it seems to only affect spell slots 2 and 4 of the group window. I haven't yet loaded all 13 level 95 toons with the new DarqUILive UI, but will these next few days to test my theory.

Any help you can provide would be greatly appreciated... again, thank you for all you do.

I repositioned the detrimental effects window to right next to my toon's health and it's target's health for easy visibility but the icons are fairly small..

Also the icons below the target i have selected are super tiny (buffs/detrimental effects). Appreciate any help..

Also EQ2Maps stopped working. Is there a trick to getting it working? It was working with my previous UI (profit).

Icons in the Maintained Spells, Spell Effects and Detrimental Spell Effects windows can all be resized larger. Move your mouse into the upper left-hand corner of the window you want to change, and click the blue gem to change options.

The target and implied target effects used to be resizable, but unfortunately an internal change forced those icons into the size you see.

After DarqUI Live is installed, you can open the EQ2MAP Updater and point to the new custom UI folder (Options button >> UI Directory dropdown). The updater will set up everything to show your maps again.

Thanks for your comments Nodor, good call on the recipe list. I have combined all the recipe favorites and tradeskill window settings into one file which should give you a better result. Use the live updater to get the new files. If you customized your tradeskill window layout or event timers/sounds, use the window manager to set those settings again which will add them to the new combined config file.

Thanks,

Yes this would be possible, and a future plan for DarqUI Live is expanding the custom group layout concept to other DarqUI pieces such as threat, player, target/implied, etc. It's a fairly large project but you would be able to hide/show/move the window components around to suit your tastes in custom mode.

So if I understand this right then I cannot use the macro I created in game in the Command section. I have to recreate the macro in the command line correct? How do I separate the lines with a semi-colon?

Nevermind - I figured it out. It is working as intended now.
