I appreciate the compliment Crimee, glad you're enjoying the UI. A fully configurable XP/Stats bar has been something I've wanted to do for quite a while. It's one of those big items on the list of projects to tackle. I'd like to do something with drag-and-drop where you unlock the XP bar, customize the stats and commands to your liking, then lock it again. In the meantime I'll take a look at the percentage displays. Off the top of my head I can't see a reason why it wouldn't be doable as an option. There is already a Guild XP percentage display.



Drumstix: basically the same mechanism here, and for the same reasons. If the player chooses all-horizontal or all-vertical, the self tile will behave as expected. But anything in between will put groupmembers 2 through 6 either below or to the right of the self tile. It would be nice if the default Group window showed self data, but I can understand why it doesn't.

Smile Best Ui Ever Built

For Raids Hands Down, Best build, The Customized Spell Casting Monitor alone is the best tool for the game I have found. Basically I dumped a lot of my triggers from act to keep over cycling the cpu ,minimized to only use Orange Emote Text and Red ability Text.

Maybe one Day , it will be able to Text monitor the " /# "color text from log files. That would put act back to running parse and reduce a lot of crashing ( mainly due to really bad Trigger construction from others.)

What I would like to suggest is a Support channel where people can share the "External Presets" of the spell monitoring Recorder. We could then just keep sharing updating and reloading it.

Would be nice if it could read the Target window or Text file and auto set the mob encounter. right now I'm having to re-add encounter then clear for recording right before pull.

Bloodstormz, thank you for your comments. I did experiment a while back with the onscreen message window to make the \# color messages more obvious, I'll have to dust that off again.

Howdy Darq

I love the flexibility of your group//raid windows. Is there a way to put the following in the C2C? I'm not a healer so I use those buttons for frequently used buffs and/or assigning a MT/MA.

1.
I use to use this as a quick setup when the MT/MA changes during a raid. I call it being to lazy to open the Macro window

C2C button: /alias assist_Tank:assist %t
this won't set the MT/MA w/wo the / slash in your grp/raid C2C window.
I tried alias assist_Tank:assist TNAME but nogo. I suspected it wouldn't.

And then of course the following is the macro key: /assist_Tank %t

2. In the spell monitor I placed Nullmail (until cancelled) which will trigger once, then has a 2m 49s recast. Is it possible to get this to recast after the cool down? If so what would the statement, i.e. recast on target or self and timer settings (= 0 ) look like? I've tried various combinations but nothing seems to work. Or is it possible this spell doesn't qualify?

3. Also and I'm ashamed to ask this... but where is the mobs power level in the target window?

Accredo, you should be able to get the button to work using:

alias 'assist_tank:assist' TNAME

And then another button with simply assist_tank to use the alias. The single-quotes are important because the colon is considered non-alphanumeric and will mess up the line if not enclosed at the nearest whitespace.

Having said that, I don't think you will get good results putting this macro onto a cure button since the Live version of the DarqUI group window attaches cure macros to the cure icons themselves -- meaning you won't be able to fire off a macro unless there is also something on the button to cure. You could put it onto a spell button instead, or if it must go onto a cure button then you may be better off using the standard DarqUI version, which has an independent set of buttons that overlay the cure icons just for this purpose.


On your spell monitor question: The followup slot only accepts spell names or the phrase "recast spell on target." I guess you could get a spell icon to recast itself after a duration, but the code would need to be laid out a bit differently.

Hello Darq:

Thanks for your reply. I tried your TNAME and ' statement but nogo. I didn't place it in the spell name but rather on the command line, leaving the spell name line empty. It isn't an issue at all but more of a lazy step for me.

I have both of your UI's installed. I just love the Live version as I can make tweaks on the fly. I didn't try as of yet but can I use your UI utility to make out-of-game changes to the Live version, if I direct the path to the Live folder?

This is more of a FYI:

Where is the Power/Mana bar on the target window?

I noticed with my assassin char the self buff, Carnage, shows in the Maintained window (this is normal), but in the Monitored Spell window it does not contain any timer/stack numbers. Perhaps this buff may be pushing the limits of the Monitored spell window. While it's a prestige self buff, it doesn't function quite like a wizard/warlock incremental stack.

A Carnage icon remains at all times in the maintained window and does not display timer/stack numbers as expected. During a fight however; another Carnage icon appears and is a short timer-per mob buff and displays the timer and stack No.. I.e. Fighting Mob 1 for more than say 10s, a floating Carnage appears and will count up to a max 5 inc stack and as long as your hitting Mob 1, using Blood-fury will not re-set it zero, but remains at 5. I.e. Using Blood-fury, the spell for Carnage, does not reduce the stack number as say a warlocks Toxic Aura would set to zero after using Toxic Assault or Caustic Detonation.

However; if you hit several mobs, separate Carnage icons appear for each mob involved. The stack count varies depending on the time/damage. So essentially, if you hit 6 mobs during a fight, you can have 6 floating Carnage icons with varying stack numbers working their way up to the max of 5 incr. This is in no way an issue for me but thought I'd pass it along to you.

I am a HUGE Drums fan and have been for years. Drums UI has always been clean and straight to the point and yours follows the same direction. I must admit, I did add to your folders Drums chat, bank, broker, dressing room, examine windows (which allows one, with the market window open, to merely click the title of an item you're examining and having it appear in the market window) and razc_attack (for the ACT headset audible cue) via SlimDX_XAudio2.dll.

Btw: I am blown away by the flexibility of the group/raid windows. I'm not a healer so a lot of the info in those windows aren't useful to me. Your making the elements in those windows moveable was just a fantastic idea. My grp/raid windows look so clean and uncluttered now. Thank you so much.

Update on use of aliascommand

Hi Draq

I got your alias command to work. I have left all lines blank (Spell and Spell ID etc) except for the command line at the bottom.

I placed this on the on the command line: alias 'assist_tank:assist' TNAME
and Assign MT on the Tooltip line (I didn't need to but felt compelled to put something there), then chose an icon. It works perfectly... everytime! No problems at all.

Greetings Darq,

I am using the new DarqUI Live v2.0 now but still have the problem that the spell icons in the GroupMembers Window are always the ones from the first character I logged in. When I switch characters the spell icons don't change, though the spells themselves and their macros are the right ones.

Then I have a question about the tutorial triggers (question marks) on events with a new low level character. I never see the question marks popping up but only hear the sound.
Both options - "Deactivate Tutorial-Tips" and "Deactivate Tutorial-Windows" are not checked.
I just wonder if that has to do with the DarqUI Live or if it might be another problem.

When you set up a new spell icon, make sure you click all of the "Save" buttons that appear on the setup page. For a preset spell icon there will be at least five: one for the spell name, then four more at the top of the window manager for the icon image and background color.

DarqUI does not modify the tutorial triggers. The clickable question marks were moved from center-screen to the clock on the mini-map border, so if you have that turned off you may not be seeing them.

Question about the language

I'm curious as to what language is used for this UI (or all UIs)? I googled and searched the forum but couldn't come up with anything solid about building custom UIs. I'd like to make some minor/personal tweaks, like changing the bar width in some windows and maybe change the hotkeys frame among other things.

I am having the same trouble Neverland has. On the group window the spell icons that show are for the first toon I log in. When I camp to another toon the icons stay the same but if I hover over them the names are the correct names for the new toon. I have clicked all the save buttons on both toons. The only fix I've found other than logging all the way to desktop and coming back in as a new toon is to enter the editor and change the group window option to another number and save it. The icons then change to the correct look for the toon I have swapped to. Am I missing something? Shoudn't I just be able to swap to a new toon and have the icons/spells show up correctly without having to enter the editor every time?

Thank you for your help and all your hard work on this UI.

In your DarqUI_Live\POI folder there is a file called darqui_group.xml. Can I get you to zip and send that file to darqwood at hotmail dot com. Don't post it here. I have an idea of where the trouble is coming from but I'd like to see the exact settings that are not updating.

Vetiver, thank you for e-mailing the config file. It really helps to see exactly what you were seeing. There is a change to the Group window on the updater that should correct the issue you and Neverlands were having. Download the new file and post back here if it does not fix your icon display. I also added a similar check to the Raid window to correct the problem if it happens with those icons. I appreciate the heads-up on this.
