That did it! I can't believe it was so simple!
My friend is having another issue with the updater. We've gutted the interface, redownloaded the new one and installed, went through his firewall, but he's still getting this error:
UL-SEC-5 Could not retrieve list of updates. Please try again in a few minutes.
Any thoughts would be appreciated!

The UL-SEC-5 error message comes from an old version of the utility. Cloud locations have changed since that version. Make sure he is using at least version 3.1 of the utility, preferably 3.1.0.1.

I've noticed from time to time that the UI tries to post something to the raid (along with a gong), presumably due to recurring spell effects from certain mobs. Where are the settings for this in the UI? I'd just like to see what it's trying to do. Thanks!

Threat, Group and Raid windows each have an optional audible detriment setting. All of them default to giving you audible feedback from curses: when a group member is cursed (the gong sound), when you are personally cursed (the skill-up chime), and when one or more raid members are cursed (the quest update "plink" sound).
You can set up audibles for all detriment types for group and self, but the raid window will only alert you about curses. Using the window manager or the utility you can turn the alerts on and off, change which detriments get the alert, and choose which sounds are played.
The text messages are handled by the Threat window. If you are in a raid, the channel will get texts for when you get the selected detriment, how many total counters of that detriment are on you, and when it comes off, either by a cure or by expiring naturally. You can choose a different channel to get these messages -- raidsay is the default.

Of course.
But the problem is already found and solved. It's my fault.
A problem in not updated (blocked) file eq2ui_gamedata.xml in DarqUI folder.
Forgive me...

hello,
thanks for this nice update. I like how easy one can set up the characters ingame!
I have a small problem, though. When having characters of the same name, but on different servers, both characters show the spells of the class that was first set up. For example, when I set up spells for my 100Warder on Thurgadin, they also show up on my 13Nekro on Stormhold.
Probably this was brought up already, sorry if I missed it, when there was a fix for that.

There is no way for the UI to "know" which server your character is on, so you have to pick one of the two same-named characters to set up. If the utility picked the wrong one when configuring automatically, you can hide that one in the Quick Setup grid and set up the other one. There are instructions in the utility for players with duplicate character names.
Group and raid spell buttons are primarily affected, and I know of players who set up for example the first three buttons for one character, and the last two for the other character. In your case you could do this for the group window, but you can leave all five raid spells for the Warden since the Necro is probably not raiding.

Spell Effects
For some reason my spell effects window fill up from the bottom and go up to the top. If I use the mouse wheel scrolling it moves the top icons up where I can't see them. I have tried to make the icon size smaller and I get an error and it reverts back to 25 pixels when I log back in.
Other than making the effects window bigger any suggestions?
Thanks.
