Party Window Resize
How do I set up the party frame to show self but also have the window so the names are three across and two deep and still able to see all 6 names in the frame? As of now, using the DarqUI Default (mode 1) it looks like this:
Me Person Two Person Three
(Space) Person Four Person Five
(Space) Person Six (Space)
I would love it to look like:
Me Person Two Person Three
Person Four Person Five Person Six
Any trick to it?
Thanks!

First off, let me just say how much I am enjoying DarqUI. I am coming from DrumsUI, and the transition has been seamless. I do have one question. Is it possible to edit the shutdown window to allow for more characters on the pull down tab than the twelve that are setup within the GUI? I used to be able to edit the one that was using with DrumsUI. If not, no biggie. I can just paste the one I was using in there. I just like look and feel of DarqUI's a bit more! Thanks so much for the great UI and any light you can shine on adding more characters to the dropdown.
Be well!

Sloke, thanks for your post. You can take a crack at adding some more player names to the shutdown window, but it won't be as simple as adding lines to the data structure at the top. There are a few places in the file that refer to the player and server data elements, so as long as you follow the pattern and get them all it should work fine. I am working on the next version of the window utility, so I'll try to add some more name slots before it gets published.

Deathpixie, if the window contains the non-standard "self" tile and is longer than it is wide, the self tile will be stuck out to the left of the other five groupmembers like in your diagram. If the window is taller than it is wide, the groupmember block will drop below the self tile. Unfortunately, this is the result of internal coding that can't be intercepted.
Most custom group windows that include a self tile simply lock the boundaries of the window to all-horizontal or all-vertical to prevent this unexpected behavior (this is how most of the standard DarqUI modes are set up.) I unlocked the group window boundaries in DarqUI Live for all modes to offer a little more flexibility to players who prefer a non-standard arrangement and don't mind the self tile being stuck out by itself.

Go to the Settings tab in the utility and click on the yellow folder icon. Check the path that opens. Now right-click the shortcut icon that you use to run the game and choose "open file location." These two paths should point to the same EverQuest II game folder.
If they are the same, then click the "Make Default" button on the Settings tab and change your default UI to DarqUI. Then restart the game. Post back here if this doesn't get you fixed up.

DarqUI customizations are saved into each window file, the eq2settings file is not used. So you need read+write access to the files inside the DarqUI folder. Make sure you are running the utility as administrator. Are you running the game in a virtual machine?

The spells underneath a party members name
I haven't gotten the chance to look at the rest of my characters, but when i'm on my inquistor the last button I see is Chilling Invigoration but when I click it it says This spell or ability is no longer available. and I was curious what is the 5 dark boxes for on the ui? I can't ever figure it out and normally it's covered up when I do use a merc. Love the UI tho, just curious on those two things so far.

Chilling Invigoration is a spell that you get from AA's, so if you haven't chosen it you won't be able to cast it. You can use the Window Utility to choose a different spell icon for that slot. Right-click the spell name on your inquisitor's group window tab for some different spell suggestions.
The other window is the Maintained Spell Monitor, which can be set up to display a duplicate of any spell that appears in your Maintained Spells window. Most classes have Maintained spells that players want to watch closely -- how many charges of a poison are left, how much longer a ward will be active, etc. Because of the way the game is designed, the Maintained icons jump around in the window which makes it hard to respond to them during battle. The Maintained Spell Monitor puts the important spells into a predictable place on the screen so you don't waste time hunting for them. You can turn this window on/off for each character from the SpellMon tab in the utility ("listen on login").

I always started the DarqUI Utility as Admin and No. I play with Windows 8.1
i tested some things:
- start EQ2 and /loadui darqUI -> nothing happend correct layout but without darqui windows
- started darqUI Utility (as admin) -> save (click all settings) -> /load_uisettings -> darqui works.
that is what i have to do at every login... but when i switch the charakter all settings and the UI are gone.
i triple checked the attribs on files... everything is OK. now i have a workaround but nice is different.

i found it...
you were right with the attributes of the files. i used procmon and saw that eq2 want to write in some default-ui files. i changed the attribute on all files in UI\* and now it works.
but now i have another problem. one of my hotbars will resize and repositioning after each login.
any idea?
and darq... impressive work with that UI... i love it!!!! thx alot

I appreciate the compliments, thank you. Is the #10 hotbar changing icon size on all characters, or just one? You might try renaming the character's settings file ( Server_ Charname_eq2_uisettings.xml) and then copy another character's settings in-game using /load_uisettings. Rename it back again if this doesn't fix it. DarqUI doesn't change hotbar icon size or use the xml uisettings file which is where hotbar specs are stored (Hotkey_clone_9 in your case).
