Re: Re: Can't Load UI
Hi Darq!
I REALLY appreciate you getting back to me so quickly However, I was actually just logging in to tell you that my husband found the issue for me, and don't laugh too hard, but it was actually an issue with the international feature after all! LOL.
The issue is resolved, although I'm getting a weird JIT error sometimes now. I saw one other person mention a similar error, so maybe I'm doing something ELSE wrong now.
Again, thank you so much for your speedy response, and keep up the good work!

Hi Sp00ky_Kat, sorry you're having trouble. A couple of preliminary questions: When you type /loadui in-game, does DarqUI appear in the list of choices? If so, do you get the default when you choose DarqUI from the list?
LittleMagica's issue was caused by incompatible characters on a non-English client. When I publish a new version of a file, sometimes I forget to test for this, but LittleMagica is always good about pointing it out quickly. I just checked all the current files again and they appear to be clean. I see Permafrost in your profile, so can I assume you're using the EN-US game client?
Finally, in the utiliity on the settings tab, click the button with the yellow folder icon. This will open the DarqUI location on your computer. Is the path to the UI the correct one? Since you reinstalled your game recently, it's possible that it got installed in one of the newer locations preferred by SOE.

Hi Darq
Silly question, but what in-game volume is the audible notification for the attack timer on the threat window tied to? Is it interface volume?
I ask because the noise gets lost during raids, and I'm usually busy watching mana bars, hotkeys and ACT timers during that time so, if possible, I would like to have the audible cue be, well, audible. I tried turning up interface volume and turning down player voices so that I don't hear everyone's battle grunts, which helped with overall noise (and made my tell noise and bags really loud!) but did not help with my being able to hear the cue in a fight amongst 20+ other people.
Having said that, I can hear it just fine when I'm solo or in a group. In any case, it's not a big deal, as I can just feel it out or look at the window periodically. But I thought that I would ask.
Oh, one more thing! (Another silly thing, too!) Would it be feasible to have the right-hand ball of the AA XP bar state your vitality on mouseover, just like the adventure XP bar? I wasn't sure if the basic functionality of that bar was able to be tweaked at all. If it were, however, it would be awesome when grinding AA on alts, so that you would not have to flip over to the regular XP bar to check. Yes, I'm that lazy!

Cearra, all of the DarqUI sounds are controlled by the Interface Sounds setting. The default autoattack timer sound is audible for me during raids, but I have 3D sounds and ambient volume set a bit lower than usual. Try doing that instead of increasing the interface sounds volume. You may also want to experiment with using a different sound for the autoattack timer -- fizzle or falling_damage for example. You can use the Spell Monitor controls to quickly test the available sounds from in-game.
I'm sure I can get the adventure vitality tooltip onto the green AA gem, although the tooltip will probably need some kind of note about adventure vitality affecting AA XP indirectly based on the AA slider.

Darq, thanks for this UI. It's simply the best. I only have one feature update to ask: Can you add a minimize option to the browser window that collapses the browser, while keeping it draggable and it in view?
Drums UI has that feature and it makes solo timeline grinding easier.
Thanks for your work and dedication.

Cearra: the XP/Vitality tooltip is on the AA gem.
fearGod: the Minimize button has been added to the Browser.
Thank you both for your comments!

This is awesome, thanks Darq!
And I took your advice about the volume. Works great, so thanks for that too.

Inventory question
Darq, is it possible to add a "one bag" option and/or auto sorting to the inventory?
Here's and example: http://www.wowinterface.com/downloads/info8113-Combuctor.html
Thanks!

Re: Inventory question
fearGod, there are some upcoming options to turn off container titlebars and borders globally, which will approximate the "one bag" feature from WoW. But as far as organizing the contents of your inventories, I don't think there's much automation that can be done with the UI. I do offer a utility program here that will track and display your character inventories, but it won't help with sorting items in-game.

I was just editing my post with a better example. I look forward to the upcoming features and guess I'll have to keep dragging items around after visiting the vendor/broker.
Thanks for the reply.

installing
I'm having trouble getting this to work. How do I get this installed? I used the normal custom UI method... and it isn't appearing in my /loadui

Alothes, the download on this page is not going to follow the general instructions because what you are downloading is not the interface itself. It's a utility program that works as a downloader for the UI files. Drag the DarqUI Window Utility out of the zipped file and drop it onto your desktop, then run (as administrator) to set up the UI. There is a 5-minute walkthrough video here that should be helpful. Post again if you are still not seeing the UI in game.
