Re: Character UI Settings

I love your UI, but have noticed that when I make a new character, I have to manually copy the <server>_<Character Name>_eq2_uisettings.xml file for the UI settings I prefer and change the name to match my new character so that character will have the settings I prefer. If I try to just use the "copy UI settings" option that EQ2 provides, it seldom works.
Is there some file in your UI that I could modify that would make my preferred settings the default? If so, how would I go about doing that?

I'm actually not sure there is anyway to do this as the game manages the default UI settings and it apparently doesn't like to load custom settings.

Broker crashes game?
Hi Drums, I LOVE the UI, thank you so much for all of the nifty features you've included! I've had a problem lately however, and I don't know if it's related to the UI or not: my game crashes the first time I log into the broker and examine an item to compare individual prices. My guildies aren't experiencing this problem in general, so I thought that I'd pose the problem here to see if anyone else is experiencing the same issue.
Thanks for your kind attention and for such an easy to use interface. It makes being a priest a much easier job!

Hi there, glad you're enjoying the UI. This is the first time I've ever heard of this crash bug. If you could make a new topic on the DrumsUI forums here and post exactly what it takes to recreate the crash, it might help me figure out if it is a global bug.
Off hand I don't have any suggestions unfortunately.

Missing Menu Button
(Reposting this here in addition to the separate StartMenu/Stat Bar forum)
I did a clean install of the Updater version of the Full Interface, and I have no menu button. I used F10 to view all windows, moved everything around, and I can't find it anywhere. Is there a way to "call it up" via keystrokes?
I did add the Infocenter to the interface...would this explain why the menu button is not appearing?

Hi there,
I'm a huge fan of your work, keep it up!
Just have a question regarding the chat, after I ran the updater, I'm no longer able to just press enter and type away.. This happens even after I set the default chat window.
Right now, I've to click on another window to respond, couldn't do an /r, /tt or even select a player and right click to tell anymore. Could you please help me?
Thanks

OK, I guess I will just have to keep doing what I have been doing. It is only a minor annoyance... and I only have to do it once for each character.

I had the same problem too -- he changed the default setting for the chat window. To fix it, right click on the chat window to select Window Options. Change the Frame and Title setting to Frame and Titlebar. This will bring it back to its "original" state.

Re: Wonderful UI
hey - have used this ui for quite some time and i love all the features except one. is there a way to stop when you click your own window (where is says your character name and health/power bars) to stop it from displaying in number form how much health and power you have and just target yourself?
i know how much hp/power i have thru other parts of the interface, i just wanna cure myself using the mouse and rather than clicking the cure buttons i often just change the tab of bars/numbers instead.
regards.

If you click the HP/Power bars their self, it will target you. I understand you want the whole window to function as default though. I'm not sure how they get in the way of the cure buttons though? There is currently no easy way to disable these buttons however.

yep- its not really something i cant live with its just an annoyance so hoping it was easily fixable.
and allow me to clarify - its when i click on my name its the number that appear there which irritate me. i often have to rebuff in raids and i have the buffs hotkeyed and i use the mouse to select targets thru the group window so when attempting to target myself i will click on my name , punch up the numbers and not actually target myself.

Gotcha. You could try using the "you" spot in the group window to target yourself, if you have that showing. Cheers.

Target Casting Bar acting up
Hello, recently installed this UI and love it! The casting bar has recently started acting up on me though and I wasn't sure what was going on. Now when a mob casts something the only thing that shows up in the casting bar is "AOE of Doom" which is pretty funny but doesn't help me interrupt Overpower in TORZ for example. I've tried rerunning the updater to see if a file needs to be replaced but no luck there. Is there something I can delete in my UI folder that will force a re-download of that component next time I update?
Also on an unrelated note - is there any way to make that threat meter bigger? It's so tiny I tend to lose sight of it during raids. Or a way to get the original big honking meter back? I'm not overly tech savvy so I haven't played around deleting files.
