Re: Doesnt work with Profit 3.2

This add-on is great, I've enjoyed using it on my PUI 3.0.1 & 3.1.1, with LU34 I has to update to PUI 3.2. But now my POI don't work. I cant see the box on the top hand corner of the map anymore
|
I installed Profit UI 3.2 myself last night but the button was right where I expected it to be on the map and working fine. I'm not sure what could be casuing your issue but it probably wouldn't hurt to try reinstalling the POI Finder.
It seems support for this mod was added to Profit 3.2 but only in that the eq2ui_mainhud.xml file is modified for you. The POI Finder is not bundled with the ProfitUI download and there should be no files getting overwritten by one or the other.

Assuming I can get it to work I am willing. I'll give it a try this weekend.

1.20 (5/16) - Added XML that, according to Talyns, should make Talyns' ShrinkMap Plugin work better. I actually didn't see any improvement but it didn't cause problems either and maybe its just my setup. I encourage posting feedback about your results below.

Thanks for adding that Treemos.. Works perfect!
All the code does is move the button out of the middle of the map and moves it next to the "+" that shows the filter menu when my plugin shrinks the map.
So thanks again

Yes, that's what I thought it was for. But when I use it the POI Finder button stays exactly where it was both pre- and post-shrinking. Maybe its because I use ProfitUI which makes "Parent" refer to something other then it would if I was just using EQ2Map, POI Finder, and your shrink mod? I'm not really sure how all this parent object hierarchy stuff works. Would changing the line to say something like "parent.parent.parent.parent.POIFinder.Location=13,25" work better in my case?

ProfitUI doesn't mod the map window, so it's not that. I think Talyns just released the wrong code. I can't find anything in his ShrinkMap 1.1 that would activate your OnShrinkWindow and OnUnshrinkWindow buttons, and there is nothing in eq2map either. I just sent a PM to Talyns to let him know.

Hi
If you have only EQ2MAP and POIFinder installed, then likely your LFG window wount work. You have to delete the eq2ui_mainhud.xml file, and reinstall it using the instructions above.
Are you using POIFinder Updater ,delete the eq2ui_mainhud.xml and it will be reinstalled for you next time you run the program.

I figured people would want some up-to-date POI links for the new Neriak zones (I sure did) so I've posted the regular map update a little sooner then I usually would.

no X
i used the poifinder updater file and it doesnt seem to be putting an X on my map when i click on a title
[edit]
hmm i think its because i used the custom icon changers for the map. cause directly clicking on POIs doesnt give me an X either :/

Black backgound
Downloaded and installed the zip. Copied and pasted the text from your how to into eq2ui_mainhud.xml file. Tried the top of the page first (you didn't say where to put it). Started EQ. POI Finder appeared with a Black background and no frame or scroll bar, so I camped and tried putting the text at the bottom of the page. Stared EQ and POI Finder still appeared with a Black background and no frame or scroll bar. Then I update eq2map. It over wrote the eq2ui_mainhud.xml file. Started eq again and POI Finder still works but the back ground is still black with no frame or scroll bar. Any ideas?

Do you use a custom UI or just EQ2Map on its own along with the POI Finder? If its the latter, take a look at the comments left back around April 19-20 between jhratliff and me. I proposed a solution to his black backround problem involving some missing .dds files. But he never wrote again to say if it fixed the problem so I didn't make an official note of it in the installation instructions. If it works for you please post here again to let me know one way or the other.

I followed the directions step by step. The problem I'm getting with this is that when I click on th POI box, a window pops open with the correct background and frames...there's just no poi's to click on...like if they're not loading for any zone. I use ProfitUI. In the quest journal where you can click google, etc it doesn't have that anymore also. It says Parent.tar I'm kinda stuck at what to do atm. Any help would be appreciated.
