I can not for the life of me get the little 4 arrowed pointer to pop up for me to move my hotkeys. I can get the 2 arrowed ones to resize the hotkeys, but not move it.. The window is unlocked.. this is driving me nuts. It works just fine in the default ui, but not this one.
The easiest way to move a hotbar is to 'Show Spinner' then use the spinner as a handle to place it where you want it.

I think you can right click the taskbar icon to disable - not sure I don't use it.

I clicked "Continue". The loader window opened. This time I pointed the install path to...

C:\Program Files\Sony\EverQuest II\EverQuest2.exe

...(the .exe was EverQuest2.exe, and not EQ2.exe).

I clicked "Full Install". I let it install and it goes for a while and I get that other error when it gets to a certain point. THAT error's details are as follows...

So basically the same thing is happening. Your thoughts? Am I supposed to be doing anything with the UI folder? Oh, and I also updated my windows via Windows Update and installed SP 3 as I was setting up. Lastly, I'm using Windows XP Pro, not Vista.
Ok I think this is still a path error, I am uploading a new installer/updater that will fix that. Give the admins a day or 2 to approve, until then if you want to try something..

Create a new text file called eq2path.reg, we're going to manually enter your install path into the registry.

Into your new file copy/paste and then save the following:
(you might need to change the highlighted parts to match your path)

Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\App Paths\Everquest2.exe]
@="c:\\program files\\sony\\everquest II"
"Path"="C:\\program files\\sony\\Everquest II"

Now rerun the updater and see if it goes.

application or computer (machine.config) must have the
jitDebugging value set in the system.windows.forms section.
The application must also be compiled with debugging
enabled.

For example:

<configuration>
<system.windows.forms jitDebugging="true" />
</configuration>

When JIT debugging is enabled, any unhandled exception
will be sent to the JIT debugger registered on the computer
rather than be handled by this dialog box.

Naturally I click CONTINUE. And the patcher window opens. Now, am I supposed to add an install path in the corresponding window? And do I add all the characters on my main server (since you can only select one server at time) which I want to use the interface? Not sure exactly what this is... Anyway, I ran the patcher on FULL INSTALL and let it do its thing. After a while it pops up with another error and (I assume) freezes up. I don't see any new additions to my UI folder or anything...which is why I was asking if I was supposed to add a path to the install path field.

The second error is identical to the first one (above link), save that where the one above states, "Object reference not set to an instance of an object.", the new one states, "Argument 'Path' is Nothing or Empty." I'm assuming that one was referring to the field I spoke of above regarding the Everquest II Install Path, as I'd ran the pather without entering anything.

Thanks.
Here's the recipe for a full install:
-Download and extract
2 files setup,exe, DB's EQ2 Mod.msi
-run setup.exe
creates folder DBsMod, contains 6 files DBsEQ2ModInstaller.exe, eq2.ini, favicon.ico, listing.txt, readme.txt, version.txt
-run updater
tries to read eq2.exe install path from registry if not correct or blank use 'Browse'
-add and save character names and server for custom shutdown window (only works with 1 account)
-click full install
downloads and installs mod

Only known issue is a rare permissions issue on Vista, fix is to run as administrator.

If after a complete uinstall and reinstall you still get errors please let me know.

I deleted teh DeaDBeaTs folder under Everquest2/DBsMod and /UI and replaced them with the DeaDBeaTs folder from the zip file.

Now to just get the UI to load. when I do a loadui from the chat screen it only shows the Default.
Check your eq2.ini it should only contain:

cl_movie_enabled 0
cl_ui_skinname DeaDBeaTs
cl_ui_subdir UI/

The loadui is case sensitive ie. - DeaDBeaTs

I am running Windows Vista Home Premium 32bit with SP1.
The file size for /UI/ is 54.8mb (57,563,678 bytes), contains 1,412 files, 24 folders (I typoed the last time when I put in 42). I am guessing that I am getting this error because for some reason I am not downloading the final 4 files and when the installer is moving files from Everquest 2\DeaDBeaTs to /UI/DeaDBeaTs it's throwing an error, just like if you don't have an eq2.ini file in your Everquest 2 directory. It doesn't know what to do so it pukes.

One option we could try is if you can zip up the UI/DeaDBeaTs directory I can apply it and whatever file adjustments I need to make to get it to work. If you want to go that route you can e-mail that info to me at [email protected]. Though I am guessing just like I would to fix the error instead of bandaid the problem =)

Same error, clicking continue just makes it hang.
Zipped its still to big to mail but here's a link http://www.oldfogieshome.com/files/E.../DeaDBeaTs.zip

Couple questions, can you manually copy the DBsMod\DeaDBeaTs folder into the UI\ folder without error?
Does EQ2.ini exist in DBsMod folder? and is it copied correctly into Everquest 2? if not can you copy it manually without error?

Its beginning to sound more like a file permission issue now.
