Here is the preview version of my StartButton mod. This mod does 3 major things. Replaces the start button with an Ammo Icon that will show your current ammo number and item. Adds a hideable Sound control panel. Adds a hideable video control panel.
I call this version a preview version mainly because the video settings are functional but not fleshed out. The intent of this mod is to allow you to set up each video setting the way you want it. Once I have finished setting up mine the way I want it, I will upload the update so that you can see a fully fleshed out model. However if you already know what you want, you can easily just set it up and move on.
Ammo/Start Button Feature
The Ammo Icon now replaces the default Start Button. Your current Ammo amount and icon will display.
On mouse over the Ammo Icon becomes your Start Button. Clicking on it will open your start menu.
When minimized (resize as small as it goes) all dead space around the Ammo/Start Button is eliminated.
In the bottom right corner is a drag icon that will show up when you hover over it. In the top left corner of that icon is an easy spot to drag with.
Sound Control Panel
When the Ammo/Start Button is expanded down you will see 3 sliders. They have tool tips to tell you what they are for. They are Master, Combat, Music Volume.
Video Control Panel
This is made to allow easy custom settings based off your situation. As said before I am working on my settings and will upload when done, however you can set yours up easy. Directions are below.
The 7 Modes Are:
Solo
Group
Raid
Lag
Screen Shot
Crafting
Harvesting
The lag mode is visualy different than the others to assist in clicking when its, laggy.
How to set up Custom Video Settings
In your UI folder there is a new folder called
MaddBomber_StartButton_VideoSettings.
In that folder you will find the 7 modes. Right click and hit edit to open the mode you want to edit. You will see the notepad with some code. The important section is
Code:
OnActivate="cl_textureshrink=0.0
cl_textureshrink=0.0
cl_charactertextureshrink=0.0
cl_charactertextureshrink=0.0
r_texture_lodding_shrink=0.0
r_texture_lodding_shrink=0.0"
Here you will replace what I have with the video settings that you want. I made each icon default to changing the textures (max, high, ectra) as an example. I will be developing a readme that explains all the different stuff that you can put in here.
However for those not afraid to test it out themselves. Go into your base EQ2 folder and open your
eq2_recent.ini file. In there you will see a bunch of options based on your current settings. These are the things that you will put into the code.
One note, each item must be put in twice.
Again, if you dig around you can find everything and what they do. I am working on my own guide using that info and my own experinces along with my settings to assist. For those who already use mods like this, its easy to update, so here is your preview.
