Default Chat Channels mixed up...

With all the installs/reinstalls/copying of UI sets for my 21 chars, I've messed something up. :P

Everytime I log in, I'll get lots of "You do not have the required priviliges to join evil_necromancer" or something akin to that, when I'm trying to log my swashbuckler in, etc..

I've tried right clicking on the window, going to channels and unchecking the many channels that belong to a different char, but they won't go away. Where are these settings saved?

I have been getting this problem for a while now, and I have no clue how to change it.

They're saved in your <server>_[character]_eq2_uisettings.ini. I've yet to find a way to delete those channels in that file without screwing up the entire UI. Even importing the UI settings of a character who is not logged into any chat channels doesn't seem to fix this problem. SOE needs to improve the functionality of the UI importer to remove all chat channel associations, as well as allow us to clear those with a simple command.

There are a couple ways to work around this problem.

One is to start on your original character, leave all the problem channels and then camp to the new character and load the UI settings from the first character.

There's also a utility that allows you to edit and move all your chat channels around. It's in French but it's still easy to use.
