what does it corralate to ingame?

i've never heard of tradeskill debt.
how would one accrue it?

Some tradeskill devices hit you for power damage if you miss to counter the effect others like the forge do health damage... at a low level especialy yes it is possible to get killed doing certain tradeskills, hence death debt is incured.
