Default ProfitUI 1.0 Release

1.3 released - please see
http://www.eq2interface.com/forums/s...ead.php?t=3923

Interface pieces changed:

Compass

Change window settings (backdrop opacity) to show place holders for Target and Implied Target.

Clock
Shows Earth time, hover mouse over to show game time.
Group

Shows player class and level.
Click on the group number to toggle follow.
Hover over window to show the leave group button.
Group number will change colour and size to indicate currently selected player.
Shows your own effect icons and has opaque effect icons.
Sizable to hide effects.

Player,Experience

Shows health/power/cons, main stats, experience, levels and coinage.
Click the Experience area to cycle between Adventure/Trade/Guild
Enable window frame/backdrop opacity/titlebar to show experience, coins and levels.
Sizable.

Effects
Slightly smaller than the default icons (24x24)
Target, ImpliedTarget, Casting, ActiveJournal
All changed to match theme.
Hotkeys
Clean, with self-hiding up/down selector on right-hand side.
StartButton

This is sizable but is default to cover the lower half of the screen to give the dark background.
The player effects area and start button are fixed in place.
Top slider and buttons change the complex shader, pressing the left button sets CS to –1, clicking the 'R' button recalls the previous setting.
Lower slider changes rendering distance and the buttons toggle shadows on/off.

I have found these changes alone make the most drastic differences to frame-rate.

Heroic, Mainchat, Tradeskills and Maintained
All based on other interface pieces and altered very slightly.
Journal and Guild
thanks to:
Market, Merchant and Store
Again borrowed from other pieces, these use the Fetish theme so this is included.
(I will link original author names soon).
Character/Usagealarm

Special window that runs the following commands from text files stored in the main EQ2 folder.
This window will show when you first target something. (as I could not get it to auto-open).
Now Sizable to hide rings/horse whistle.

manastone.txt - uses item 19 (right activatable slot) and displays a message 1 minute later to indicate the manastone ready again.
hide_window Popup.UsageAlarm
gsay Using Manastone!
use_equipped_item 19
r_alrm_sess_dur_minutes 1.0
alarm_restart_sess_dur_alarm
r_alrm_sess_dur_repeat 0

horse.txt - uses item 18 (left activatable slot) calls horse!
use_equipped_item 18

ring.txt - uses item 9 (left ring slot) uses ring.
use_equipped_item 9

ring2.txt - uses item 10 (right ring slot) uses ring.
use_equipped_item 10

change the text files to suit your needs.
Fonts
Must install these fonts to your windows\fonts folder: (included in zip)
Speedline.ttf
Highspeed.ttf
Images
These images need to go to Custom\Images folder
Profit.tga
buttons_master.dds (if you dont like the blue style buttons just remove this)
I would suggest using my UI ini file. This has been setup for 1280x1024
servername_playername_eq2_uisettings.ini

Change servername to name of your server, change playername to your characters name.

I do not have the player (ALT+U) window showing as my experience (ALT+X) window shows it all.

IMPORTANT - UNZIP TO GAME FOLDER
I.E C:\Program Files\Sony\EverQuest II

Highspeed.ttf
Speedline.ttf

These fonts must be copied into your fonts folder.
i.e. c:\windows\fonts

Manastone.txt
Ring.txt
Ring2.txt
Horse.txt

These command files must be copied into your game folder.
i.e. C:\Program Files\Sony\EverQuest II

I would really appreciate any feedback.

Very neat and creative with a sort of eq1 layout....

I was interested to see how you got the arcane etc to show up for yourself (best I ever managed was to get the trans icon to pop) So I seen you made your own image style for it insted damn nice work!
So I hacked it right down made a few adjustments and plugged in to get mine working hehe cheers bud .. Of course I'll give you credit for it in the proper place

Thanks Laffs - feel free to take anything

I've noticed 2 bugs - one is minor, the other is that the experience starts with guild, so will fix that next release.

Looks really nice. I really like the graphics for that top bar.

Hey when you feel you have a fairly stable version please submit it to our downloads area. Just go to the complete sets category and click the upload link.

Did you follow the instuctions? i.e put the .txt files in your eq2 folder, also, slot 18 is left-hand activable, slot 19 is right-hand.

You may need to change the .txt files or just swap the manastone in your inventory.

Default This is really promising!

Awesome UI! I already recommended it to my guild, it is awesome! I did let them know it is in beta phase, so, a few might wait out till its final stage. Im sticking with it!

OK, I did notice something, its not major, mind you, but when you open containers and use the container X to close, the container still stays open in Inv, so, you have to Double click to close it in Inv and then you are able to open again. Like I said, nothing really HUGE, but its the only thing wrong I have found so far.

Keep up the good work!

I like the overall style and it's very creative

Gonna check it out for a bit though I'd prolly have a long list of tweaks I'd request before I'd call it my own . I won't bother you with all that though.
Good work!

The manastone/horse whistle/ring buttons are a good idea, it's just too bad what you actually have in those slots can't be displayed instead of a generic picture. Manastone is really the only activatable with a time limit I need to keep tabs on, and it's easy enough to put any other inventory slots on a hotkey, so the other 2 are kind of extraneous to me.

I really like the reativity seems also more like a "game" interface. I really wish u could switch ui's easily because all tho ur looks great it doesnt offer theutlity of some of the other more in depth mods..

Thumbs Up

Noticed this thread and decided that credit has to be given where credit is due -

I am perhaps a little bias as i am in the same Guild as Profit but in all fairness to him this new look for our screens is a refreshing change from others. This adds a new stylish and very professional look to the game and I salute you for spending the time in creating this

Excellent work Profit, you should be very proud of this.

Thanks my Paladin God

Once the full release has been authorized, I have a horizontal group window to upload. Not that I think it will fit anywhere....

But we shall see.

Very very nice!!

Think I found 1 bug, now if its a bug that is. I'm not sure.
In letterboxed mode, the experience number + money and levels keeps getting hidden behind the black border. Health and power shows as it should.

I've tried to alter all the windows settings for that, but nothing helps. So each time I wanna look at the xp and money, I need to hover my mouse over, lol.

It's not designed to work in letter box mode.

Go into options hmm I can't recall where but its in the ui part and there is an option to show windows in the letterbox area, check that and all the info will show.

Hi there i really like the UI however can you make it so I can use on 1024*768??
Or even make it so its scaleable so that it can be used in any resolution and look the same.

Can you make the Hotbar buttons smaller so more spells can be fitted on so that its more like the size on the mook 3in1 hotbar small (the 3/4 size buttons). This size means it can still be seen, clicked and still can fit alot more of them on.

The breath bar Bungas_Breath_Bar_Bubbles looks really nice if you wanna put it in to add something to it.

Also is there a way to set up a timer like on the manastone where you use a macro, once hit it then has a timer for when to be used again?

Since someone else mentioned it first, I second the motion to offer a smaller hotkey window, perhaps 85% or 75% (I think I use 85% in Fetish) .

wow, that is odd.

you may want to drop the backdrop opacity of the manastone window.

Im going to try smooth fonts to see if that reproduces the problem.

Default xp cut off

I am using your UI in 1024 x 768 and everything works but for some reason the xp numbers are slightly cut off is there any way i can fix this without going to 1280 x 1024?
