Default Direction of arrow not clear

Now that EQ2MAP is finally working right, I noticed that the character arrow is not clear. I have to check it carefully and often rotate to understand where it's pointing, since it's basically a triangle with a dot in the middle, with only a little curvature making it not completely triangular.

Compass or not, the arrow still should be clearer.

I agree, the arrow is harder to see direction then the original. I would rather have the old one back.

All that needs to be done is to change the icon from what is practically an equilateral triangle to one with a much sharper point (like the old one).

I, too find it very difficult to see which direction I'm facing... unless I filter out every type of PoI, but that's rather self-defeating.

I second (3rd, 4th, or whatver) that notion, the new arrow hurts my tiny brain

Is this dds the old map icons? if so I think using it would lose the new flashing X for waypoints on the map.

You would be correct, with the dds magus posted you will lose blinking X but looking at the file you would get a blinking red circle.

I tried that, but it's still showing the old arrow after LU19.

Right now, *no* modified files will work, as the EQ2MAP updater is updating *all* files. This is being done in an attempt to ensure that all users have up-to-date files. In a few days, though, the updater's behavior will be set back as it was before, at which time modified files (such as my PoI graphics) will be usable again.

Actually they will work. Replace the file, then make it Read-Only.

Heh, you do realize you can squish the triangle by just changing the style's width? No need to even mess with the DDS.

The standard triangle was ALWAYS too big and equalateral for my tastes. Never had any complaints with the squished curve in the year its been included with Fetish
