Default EQ2.exe problem

I am just returning to the game and I went to station to download the game with the new launchpad. The game has completely installed but does not appear to make a directory with an eq2.exe in it, how do I get eq2 maps to run or is there something else I have to do to make it work. Your response as well as time would be appreciated. Thanks.

Under Options, click the second browse button and then find the patcher executable that you're using -- it'll be something like Launcher.exe or LaunchPad.exe. EQ2.exe is the name of the original launcher.

I tried to do that but do not see a .exe for the launchpad either. Originally it was putting the files in a program data file on my C: drive, I made another directory and moved everything to Program Files/Sony/Everquest2 I cant seem to find any exe files in there and the only way I could find the files to begin with was to right click the run icon and open file location

There's executables in your EQ2 folder or you wouldn't be able to play the game. At minimum you'd have an Everquest2.exe (which is the actual game) plus some kind of patcher executable.

Error Opening Database File: mscorlib

I have deleted the previous install. I am currently reinstalling via the new launchpad, it shows the install being put in this location

Vista 64 C:/Program Data/Sony Online Entertainment/Installed Games/ Everquest II

It shows Everquest II as an Icon in there but does not say .exe with it, just says it is the Application

It also shows Launchpad as an icon with application for the file type but does not have .exe with it. I have tried clicking both of them on the second browse button and the message I posted at the top keeps coming up.

Join the club. The first advice I give anyone running Vista or Win7 is "Don't install into the default location. Make a folder like C:\Games and install EQ2 under that. Put the EQ2Map updater under there too. It's a bit more hassle up front, but it'll save you a couple of jumbo bottles of Advil later on.".

I've found the way Vista and Win7 handle protection of the system directories works wonderfully for software that's updated through standard Windows installer programs or the Windows Update system, but it just doesn't at all handle programs that update and patch themselves.
