As there currently is no service providing free code signing certificates you will see the error til I update the code. After that you will see errors about the certificate not being trusted, because it will be self signed

confirming Kaldran is legit.
Kaldran I know that for example web.de is still providing free certs but since they are not a pre-installed root CA that won't help much... Once you moved to a self-signed cert send me the hash and I'll add it to the FAQ.
PS: Throwing a warning for expired certs very much makes sense. It's a more efficient way of phasing out certs without needing to add them all to revoke lists for all eternity.
