DarqUI v2.3 Window Utility

Description
DarqUI Unified

January 4, 2016

A new version of the DarqUI Unified Utility is available. Version 3.0.0.3 includes the following changes:

EQ2MAP integration Install and update EQ2MAP alongside DarqUI with a single click. Many thanks to jnils for his assistance with launching this option.

* Savagery window: Added settings page
* Non-critical server message pop-ups can be suppressed
* The first-time setup wizard was trimmed down and offers more options
* Experience Bar: The obsolete live stats page has been replaced with connection stats and quick access buttons for custom game option profiles. See the help text for more information. Thanks to baker518 for the suggestion.

DarqUI_Notify v1.0.0.3 (included in download) changes:

* Detects and checks for EQ2MAP updates
* Returns from Internet error/sleep/hibernate more gracefully
* Added Run links to the Settings window for Utility and LaunchPad
* Settings window was adjusted for high DPI screens
* Calculates files inside folders (i.e. \Help) accurately

You can continue to use the previous utility to get file updates, but you will need version 3.0.0.3 in order to use the new features.

------------------------------------------------------------------

DarqUI Unified combines the best of standard and Live DarqUI interfaces into one, with some useful new features. Standard DarqUI users can now choose to make quick, permanent configuration changes right from the game screen while playing, as an alternative to loading up the external window utility. There is no longer a limit to the number of characters that can be customized, and many of the settings that were previously shared by all of your characters can now be configured for each character separately.

DarqUI Live users can opt to take advantage of an all-new configuration app with previously unavailable features like Quick Setup, backup and restore, character and spell file maintenance, and a new lookup feature that queries Daybreak servers for spell lines and icons to use for your spell buttons. The DarqUI Unified configuration app has been rewritten from the ground up to provide all of the conveniences from the DarqUI Window Utility and the Live Updater. You will find many usability improvements and an uncluttered design that matches the familiar in-game window manager.

Large size windows DarqUI Unified offers larger-size versions of many windows to accommodate higher resolution monitors. Choose the size you prefer from the Updates page of the utility. These include Active Journal (quest helper), Casting Bar, Chat, Dissonance, Experience Bar, Group, Implied Target, Maintained Spell Monitor, Maintained Spells, Mercenary, NPC Spell Monitor, Pet, Player, Extended Player, Raid, Savagery, Target, Threat and Tracking. DarqUI windows that were already usable with higher resolutions include Detrimental Effects, Hotbars and Spell Effects.

EQ2MAP integration Install and update EQ2MAP alongside DarqUI with a single click.

Help system Help files are now available for all DarqUI Unified windows and utility functions. Context-sensitive help information can be accessed externally from the window utility or from the window manager in-game. Use the new, more robust "Make default" feature on the Files page of the utility to set DarqUI as your default. This will prevent needing to use /loadui from the game window which crashes the awesomium browser.

Spell Suggestions There is a new French spell suggestion file in addition to German and English.

DarqUI Unified Notifications is a Windows tray icon that checks periodically for DarqUI updates. More information for setting up and using DarqUI_Notify can be found here. The app is optional, and is included in the download on this page.

Shared notes are in the same file as the individual characters: darquiv3_notes.xml. Look for the "Common" page as in

Code:

<Page Name="Common">
    <Icon Name="0" PoiDescription="shared notes go here" PoiRes... ...
</Page>

If you dont see the Common element, writing a shared note in-game will create it.

Not normal, a couple of files from the next update got onto the list. Your version should now be the one reported. Thanks for pointing it out.

If you are missing icons after using mouse wheel scrolling, stretch the window very large to bring them back into view, then resize the window back to its normal size. The icons can sometimes get "stuck" out of view when using scrolling.

Another possibility: Some of the maintained icons may have been hidden if you used spell filtering on the same icon in the spell effects window. Uncheck the box (bottom of the Options tab in the Character window) to temporarily show the hidden icons.

So I would guess it isn't an issue with the Ui at all, maybe something to do with my graphics card. Although I'm not aware of changing any settings, and don't know why it would have started upon switching to Unified.

I'm suspecting the video card or video drivers, but check your PM's because I still have two more things I want you to try. Graphics requirements rarely change with the game but DarqUI Unified was published to coincide with the new expansion so there may be a connection there.

Then delete the eq2ui_mainhud_detrimental_effects and eq2ui_mainhud_effects files from your DarqUI folder and see if anything improves.

Finally, is it all all possible to "listen" for updates to the Spell effects data vs the Maintained Spells Data? IF it is, would love an option to add either additional spell monitoring for that stream of data as well, or however you can make it happen
