Mardigann: This is how I believe it should be done...but I don't have ProfitUI installed, so I can't test it first-hand. Some of the steps you already have done, of course, but hopefully they work and putting them all in one place will help folks in the future.

=======================================================

1. Download my XP bars -- of course -- and extract the files.

2. Rename the included "eq2ui_mainhud_experience.xml" to "Seagoat_Experience.xml".

3. Open "Seagoat_Experience.xml" in a plain text editor and on line 2, change this:
Code:
Name="Experience"
...to this:
Code:
Name="SeagoatXP"
4. Add this line to "eq2ui_custom.xml":
Code:
<include>Seagoat_Experience.xml</include>
If you don't have an "eq2ui_custom.xml" file, you can create one in a plain text editor; just copy and paste the following code:
Code:
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
    <Page IgnoreTab="false" ismodule="true" Name="Custom" PackSize="1,1" ScrollExtent="1024,768" Size="1024,768" Visible="false">
  <include>Seagoat_Experience.xml</include>
 </Page>
5. When you login to the game, use this command to show the new XP bars file:
Code:
/show_window Custom.Seagoat_Experience
=======================================================

That *should* get you going. I'd love to know if anyone's successfully used my XP bars (or any of my other mods, or hell, anyone else's stand-alone mods) with any of the UI sets.

Worked like a charm! Not sure what I was missing but this is how you do it!

Thanks so much!!

The only other question would be - if I wanted to change the border from the gold/orange that it is now. I'll look through the file to see if I can edit it.

Thanks again! This gives me a quick glance to know exactly where I am XP wise. Great bar!!!

Glad you got it working!

To change the border, you'd have to find another UI piece that's using the graphics you're after, but even *I* have just started to delve into that aspect.

I'll take a look and see what I come up with.

Ah, ok...the bubble dividers and frame are all one piece. It would be possible to separate the two and specify some custom images to use, but the easiest route is just to colorize the current frame to suit your tastes.

It's found in the bottom left corner of "mugshots_female.dds" in the /EverQuest II/UI/Default/images folder.

I just dropped the saturation on the frame in the attached version...let me know if that works for you. Just save this to your /EverQuest II/UI/<custom ui folder>/images directory.

(To change the gold text to grey as well, replace all instances of "#EAC267" in the XML file with "#A9A9A9".)

Hiyas! I've been having a small problem with 'Seagoat's Spells', and I was hoping you could tell me how to fix it.

I love that i can make the windows wider, to see the names of the spells... But I cannot seem to hover over the individual effects, to get a tooltip of what's wrong. F'rinstance, if I have a negative effect placed on me, I hover over the icon, and it says 'Negative effects', instead of the actual negative effect I'm hovering over.

Thank you so much for all of your awesome mods, and your hard work! Wheee!

The tooltips are all working fine for me (see attached screenshot).

I didn't actually change anything in the elements themselves; just rearranged them within the window frame, so the tooltips shouldn't have been affected.

Keep in mind that the tooltip delay in your options applies to the spell windows as well as your hotbars...it took a second before "Detrimental Effects" changed to the spell info when I hovered my mouse over the icon.

Post Target Rings

I like ur Target rings, but I was wondering; I have 2 scouts, 2 mages, and a preditor class. All the files have the same name.

Is there a way I can use all the class type target rings for ea of my chars or not.

They all have to have the same name, or else the game won't recognize and use them.

The only way to use a different one for each character would be to completely exit the client each time you want to switch characters and copy a different set of target ring files to the /EQ2/UI/[custom ui]/images folder when you want to use a different one.

I do have a lot more target rings available than just the class-specific ones...maybe another one will catch your eye, one that you can use with any character.

Red face

Seagoat,

That target ring is so awesome. I just downloaded and tried it out. The colors are great and the skull & crossbones are a perfect touch! Thanks so much and forgive me for the long delay. Somehow I missed it. You do awesome work.

LOL I think you both might be a bit biased, but there's nothing wrong with that!

Yep, they look exactly the same as the regular EQ2Maps icons, but they're a bit bigger so you can make them out and click on them more easily.

Hello, I was wondering if you would be willing to make our guild a set of custom targeting rings....

Guild Name: Evil Incorporated

Theme: We like what you did with the Bootleggers ring, and would like something like that but with more of a 'dark' feel to it, we are an evil alligned guild.

Maybe something to fit this image and text:

We like the border style of this image and the fire look, so maybe a border like whats around that image with some realistic looking fire stuff in the center with our guild name written in a circle, much like you did with the Bootleggers ring.

That is awsome!, one question though is there a way to change the blue color to something else? like maybe a dark grey? or deep shade of red?

Thanks man you are awsome!

the blue part is probably the "con" color. And changed on con.

Depechenode is correct...that's the "con" portion of the ring. It will change color depending on the mob you're targeting.

(P.S. Not a man! LOL)

Thanks! I got zombiefied on the official forums, so I was being festive, hehe.

Edit: ...Although I think I "timestamped" myself in the process. The "fried egg" commercial was from 1987 (thank you Google! LOL). Sheesh!
