Default Window placement ingame

Playing in 1024x768, downloaded Laffs_Lite_2.9.

Followed instructions in ReadMe file, copied the eq2.ini and edited the "server_charname_eq2_uisettings(1024x768).ini" to match my server/char name, etc.

However when I log in, most of the windows are in bizarre locations, many of them overlapping each other. They're not where they were in default settings, so they're getting moved, but danged if I can figure out what I've done wrong.

Have tried removing and reinstalling, deleting the .ini files and restarting game in default, and so on. Nothing I do gets the windows to load in the proper locations on their own.

Any suggestions for what else I can try? Am feeling pretty dumb atm!

you should remove the (1024x768) from the ini file name...

should just be (your server here)_(your char name here)_eq2_uisettings.ini

I did do that as well, although I did not specify beyond the 'etc'.

Thanks though!

I'm wondering if there's some option ingame that would be affecting it, like one that isn't controlled by the .ini file? Or some setting I need to tweak? It's really quite frustrating.

Sounds like you could have a corrupt setting file.

I know it may sound tedious, but you could always manually place the windows to mirror a screenshot the author provided.
