Default displaying images

Ok, I think I understand how to get an image to appear in a custom UI mod.

First, insert an image Object.

Then in my case I found an image I want to use in one of the .dds files already included with the game. The file names is what goes into the SourceResource property of the image object in my UI window.

I should also state that I am viewing the .dds files using Photoshop with the plug-in provided above.

Once I have the .dds file, I only need the x,y coordinate for the top left corner of the image, and the x,y coordinate for the bottom right corner of the image that I want to use. This information is plugged into the SourceRect property of the image object, correct?

If this is correct then my question as silly as it may be, how do I get this coordinates using Photoshop???

Getting the coordinates in Photoshop isn't the best way to go. If you double-click SourceRect in the UIBuilder it should open up to the image you're using. That screen has a red rectangle (sometimes hard to see) that you can drag around and resize to select the coordinates for you. If you can't find it toss in some dummy coordinates and then reopen it

Is it? Wow, reading is fundamental. Well thanks again for helping out, and I'm sorry that I didn't notice it on my own.

It's pretty easy in PS too. Just use the rectangular selection tool. In the upper right corner you have a tabbed window with Navigator/Info. The Info tab tells you the coordinates your pointer is at, the colour of that point (something I find very usefull sometimes to find the right spot) and once you start doing a selection, the size of it. The way I do it with the files I'm making myself, or modify from the original, I add layers with solid coloured rectangles for easier selection and another layer with all the coordinates written down. Helps a lot to make little changes or plug in one graphic at several places/files.
