Default Crash running DarqUI Unified.exe

For some reason when I try to run the DarqUI Unified.exe it crashes.

I have tried both non admin, and admin.

It asks where my eq2 folder is, it points to the correct place, it creates the folder, and then crashes.

I have verified that I have the .NET installed in the requirements section.

Any ideas why this is happening?

************** JIT Debugging **************
To enable just-in-time (JIT) debugging, the .config file for this
application or computer (machine.config) must have the
jitDebugging value set in the system.windows.forms section.
The application must also be compiled with debugging
enabled.

For example:

<configuration>
    <system.windows.forms jitDebugging="true" />
</configuration>

When JIT debugging is enabled, any unhandled exception
will be sent to the JIT debugger registered on the computer
rather than be handled by this dialog box.

Is this your first time using DarqUI, or have you run it successfully in the past?

First time, never ran it before. The DarqUI_Notifty.exe works perfectly.

In your main EverQuest II folder, find the \logincache folder and temporarily rename it as XXlogincache. (It may be named logincache-us, logincache-eu, etc. If you have more than one, rename all of them in the same way.)

Now log in to the game from the LaunchPad without selecting a character -- just log in to Character Select. Then try running the utility again. Does it complete the setup?

Followed the instructions, still crashes at the same point.

There should be a file in the \DarqUI_v3 folder called utilitylog.txt. Open that (don't post it here) and scroll down near the bottom. Do you see any lines that indicate an error?

Nothing in the log to indicate an error, but I believe I have found the issue. Its crashing when populating the character list, and only 9 of what would probably be 40 characters worth if xml files in my folder are being listed. If i hit refresh, it crashes again.

The link for "What to do if the character list looks wrong" says to do what we already did.

I will do some cleanup and see how it goes after that.

Cleanup worked. No more crashing. It seems having 8 accounts worth of characters over the span of 10 years was a bit much.

I got everything working, and to be honest I am blown away at the quality of this UI. It has come a long way and the work you and anyone helping you has put into it is very obvious. I can not thank you enough for your efforts!

You have earned a new Patreon.

That's very much appreciated, thank you. I'll see you on the Darq Side!
