Default How to test new maps as they are created

Since I am learning to make new maps I would like to be able to test them out in game before posting them for inclusion into the eq2maps program. I looked at the FAQ and some of the other posts with code sections but when I tried to just modify the one XML that had the unique zone files, I could not get it to work.

What must be modified, and how, to make it work? I would love to be able to run through them to make sure the zone rectangles and zone transitions properly. I have not had the time to go through all the files to map each one out so I am being lazy and asking.

All you need to do is modify the _User_MapStyles.xml in eq2map2 folder with you own values.

Here is an example:
Attached Files
File Type: xml _User_MapStyles.xml (367 Bytes, 328 views)

PS: I agree our FAQs need some updating.

If it does not work, you likely installed it incorrectly. Always try a clean install before reporting bugs.

Thanks!

You may want to add to the faq that the /show_map_style_name 1 is where I would get the map style name I need to test the maps.

Also do I have to exit each time I want to test a change or can I zone in/out? I don't know how EQ2 loads the maps in for this sort of thing.

You might be able to get away with... /loadui. But just zoning should not refresh/reload your UI.
