PS 7.0 Error "Unsupported input format"
I edited a default dds file a little but now when I try to save it as a dds file again it gives me a "Unsupported input format" error. I tried attaching it but the file is too large.
Note: I am not very skilled with any kind of major photo editor

In the Save Format drop-down list, select something like:
8:8:8:8 ARGB (32 bit)
if your not selecting something already.

I'm having this same problem, and I don't even get to the point where I can select any options. What am I missing? I go to save as, select DDS, and that's all I can do.

Usually this happens when you have multiple layers in your image file. Everytime I get that message, this is why. The format option occurs AFTER you select save, a popup window will, er .. popup.

Usually reults from having multiple Alpha Channels. The DDS plugin is to stupid to promt you for which alpha to use, so it tosses an error. You need to dleete any alphas not used in the final DDS.

I thought of both of those, and I have it at one layer and one alpha and it still complains. :/

Well, the only way I can get it into the NVidia popup is to deselect the alpha channel option. Then, of course, it doesn't save the alpha channel.
If I have "alpha channel" selected in the PS7 save box, it gives me that Unsupported image format error.

GOT IT!!
For others having this problem, it was that the image wasn't flattened. Even though I had only one layer, I'd done "merge visible" instead of "flatten". When I looked at the layer options again, there was still an option for "flatten". Did that, and now it works perfectly!

Thank you for taking the time to post the resolution as I just had the same issue.

Yea when doing dds to dds for some reason it don't like to convert the layers. If you go from any thing else to dds it goes right ahead and saves it. Well for me on CS it does lol..
