Default Advanced HO window

Here is my version of the Heroic Opportunity window.

Basically I took Azoz's "Micro HO window" and changed it to my likings.

Made the icons a bit bigger, on 1600x1200 they were way too Micro.

Added multi color timer bar.

Reduced wasted space.

File is uploaded and awaiting approval.

Credit to Azoz for for his original window I modded.

Credit to anyone else who I might have used bits of their stuff in my window just forgetting what I might have used.

--Known issues:
*NONE*

--Installing:
Just place the .xml in your /mod directory.
Restart EQ2 and have a fun!

Comments and suggestions always welcomed!!

Interesting idea. Looks good to me.

Thanks Drumstix, but Azoz (Micro HO window) was first to do this idea, I just made it a bit bigger for 1600x1200. At that reso, the icons can barely be seen (too small). I also added a few other changes to my liking. Mainly the colored bar.

I like it, but is there anything different that could be done with the arrow icon? With this mod, it's harder to know when a spell must follow another, and when any spell can be cast in any order.

I don't know how much customization can be done, but my ideal progress bar would have lights above each active icon slot, and would change state based on when the skill could be used, has been used, or isn't ready yet because another skill must be used first.

That's... uh... how it works... by default... The circle behind each icon flashes when it needs to be used, is dark when not ready yet, and lit when done.

Nice and inovative ideas.

I read that EQ2 is using only up to 4 icons. Can you remove the 2 extra ones, make everything smaller, remove the bar and put a count down instead? Finally I don't think anyone care about the name of the HO like "Sky Cleave". Could you replace that by some small description about the HO you are about to pull?

(Bold added for emphasis) Everything is doable but that last request. We can't get the data on the HO's effects from the game, and we can't use logicals to pick it from a list based on the HO name.

As far as sizing, sure I can make them a bit smaller. Again, I made this mod due to the Micro version of Azoz's at 1600x1200 was way too small to see what icons were flashing when you needed to see them fast during combat.

The extra slots, yep I can rid those np.

The bar, I will make a number count down if that is possible. Thing is, there are 15 segments for a 10 second count. Previous when the count was 30 secs would have been easy to do convert every segment = 2 seconds. With 10 seconds and 15 segments, I would have to convert them into decimaled numbers. But it still may be doable.

As far as description, ger answered that

Let me work on these requests and see what I can come up with.

If the sizing is still not to your liking, I suggest you use Azoz's Micro HO, as this IS the mod I modded to MY likings. http://www.eq2interface.com/download...fo.php?id=3559

First, there are 16 segments (0-15) not 15, not that it matters for this purpose. The easiest way to change the timer to a countdown would be to create 16 images with opaque backgrounds, each with the apropriate number on it. Layer them on top of one another so that when 15 goes invisible 14 is revealed, when 14 goes invisible 13 is revealed, all the way down to 0.

Edit: Realized I hadn't addressed the tick/second differential. I honestly don't think there's any need to bother with normalizing the ticks so that they display seconds. Just count backwards from 15 to 0.

Default New Update!

DISCLAIMER:
The screen shots are from actual in game on 21.1 LCD Viewsonic monitor at 1600x1200. So to see the "REAL" size you MUST view in 1600x1200 mode. Otherwise, your sizes may look smaller/larger depending on your settings.

What is UPDATED:
Included within this archive are 4 sets of Heroic Opportunity windows.
2 are horizontal small and regular sized.
2 are vertical small and regular sized.

To use the window of YOUR choice, simply extract the .xml you desire
to YOUR /custommod directory.
Then RENAME MY .xml to eq2ui_mainhud_heroic.xml
Now restart EQ2 and you should have the heroic window of your choice.

For example:
Say I want the Small Vertical version.
1) I open up the .zip and click ONLY on the eq2ui_mainhud_heroicvertsmall.xml
2) Extract that HIGHLIGHTED file to c:\EQ2\UI\MYMODS
3) Open THAT folder you extracted to and look for eq2ui_mainhud_heroicvertsmall.xml
4) RIGHT CLICK on the file and RENAME it to eq2ui_mainhud_heroic
(the .xml is already in place you DO NOT need to add that!)
5) Restart EQ2
6) Enjoy

If for some reason you do not like the size and/or position vert vs/ hor. then Repeat
the process above but choose a different .xml from the archive.

Thanks to everyone for using this mod.

CREDIT to Azoz for his original Micro HO window that I used to make my versions.

Comments and questions/suggestions ALWAYS welcome.

--Coming SOON:
Micro, Normal, and Large in both verical and horizontal bringing the total
available windows to SIX.
