Default Hoe to ged rid of windows we don't want and that clutter up the view

As an example lately a lot of stuff that I will never use has crept into the uI such as the cure buttons beneath the group members. As a wizard I don't use them and they are an annoyance. There are a few more like the 2 windows that show spells..gawd, one is enough i don't need a second one to clutter up my screen.

So, the question is, how can we get rid of individual windows even though we don't have a delete window option. Pushing them of the screen is one albeit crappy solution and the other would be to make them transparent but then they interfere with targeting. is there a place within the UI where we can just remove them

Thanks

The "two" windows for spells is the standard setup for the game -- one is for effects on you, and one is for effects that you are maintaining. If you absolutely hate the maintained window for some reason, go to Options > User Interface > Game Window, uncheck "Keep Main HUD windows visible", then just use the hotkey to hide the window (By default, ALT M).

As for the group window... if you're referring to the buttons with words on them, you can hide them -- just click the little \/ or /\ arrow in the group window until that bar disappears. If you're referring to the detrimentals region that acts as a click cure... resize the window until it is hidden if you don't want to see it, but that's a display similar to the regular UI.

In general, the way to hide a window is the same hotkeys that show them. MainHUD windows (windows that make up the basic functionality of the game) require that setting I mentioned earlier to be unchecked in order for you to hide them.

Thank you, this helped, I also removed some of them by removing the line that includes the function/window into the mainhood file. Of course that will be only a temporary fix until the next update lol. I guess I need to sit down and spend more time to see how this all interacts with each other sometimes when I am bored with the game again.

Again thanks for the tips

Generally I try to allow for simplicity in the UI when added features aren't always needed.

To permanently hide "ClickAbilities" from the Player and Group window, right-click that window and choose "Window Options" from the menu. Now from the Popup window, set the Frame and Title dropdown menu anything other than "Farme and Titlebar".

The same procedure will hide "RaidAbilities" from the raid window.

Using this method instead of deleting files or includes will allow you to take advantage of these features on some toons, while hiding them on others.

Lordebon's post covers hiding standard windows.

Note: the Maintained, Effects, and Detrimental Effects windows (3 windows) all show different info. Probably a good idea to understand the differences before you decide to hide one of them.
