Default UI pics from the CC disk (?), link inside.

First, Hello all! Former EQLive player / amateur modder here. Thrilled to see a lot of the same people here that gave us newbies such great help with their posts over at EQInterface!

While looking through Sony's EQ2 forums, I came across this post today:

http://eqiiforums.station.sony.com/e...sage.id=157290

Scroll down a bit to Mithrell's 2nd post, he has links to 3 or 4 pics of the UI graphics.

The image in the last link looks very familiar to me.

Its possible its from the CC CD. I have one of the CD's but havent looked into the UI files. Its possible they just used the default EQ2 UI files and everything is there.

Otherwise the guy may be friend of family of SOE and is the very small friends and family beta.

installed the 2nd link and I can confirm that the DDS files are infact image files, all the images linked in the SOE post are from the Disk, they are installed on the hard drive when you install the program.

now we just need to find a native PhotoShop DDS converter or plugin.

The screen shots look perdy nice.

Its also good to see that the UI bits are still one flat file, well probably many peices files, but still its better than trying to mod horizon's ui.

DDS is a direct draw format. Its highly compressed and supports things like mipmaps and alpha channels. Its basically the newest and best form for storing 2d graphics for applications. You can DL a DDS plugin for Photoshop and Paint Shop Pro at nvidia.com

Anyway the pics are real yes. Its no big deal but the two pics of the frogloks are in the mugshots_male.dds and mughots_female.dds in the Demo/Images folder of the Character Creation INSTALL not the disc you install it from. So its /Program Files/Sony/EverQuest 2/DemoCreateUI/Demo/Images/

Theyre blacked out in the game cause the race is locked its just an overlay. The actual racial pics have to exist for the final project and since theyre there they must be finished enough for that.
