UIBuilder and LU17
Looks like LU17 is being pushed today and the UIBuilder still doesn't open LU17...
Can anyone confirm or post a work-a-round that I may have missed?
Thanks,

Only work around for the new formatting is to change it to the old formatting
I asked for an update on the new UIBuilder on the tester only forum a good few days ago but never got a respone so no idea when its ever coming.
For now what i've done is kept a copy of the Default directory that i've modded to work with the new formatting, but thats now a few test patches behind so i'll probably have to go through the whole thing again just to be safe
I really hope we get one soon because this is a huge PITA.

Ok I just went through and completely updated my copy of the default UI to be compatible with the old format and i'm going to include it here to help out others.
FYI though this is off Test Server as that is where I play.. since the LU just went live it should be the same or extremely similiar, but I wanted you all to know.

Looks like they forgot to push the new UI Builder. Mine is still dated March 8th 2005 in my EQ2 folder.

Nov 18 build of UIBuilder
It helps if I drop the UIBuilder.zip into a location that gets distributed.
UIBuilder.zip is getting hand copied to Test/Live for tomorrow's push.
And I get detention after work tonight: I have to write "I will remember to check in changes to UIBuilder into the public client directory" 500 times on my whiteboard.

Add a couple iterations of "I will check the testers only forum for UI bugs" in there too
Thanks a bunch for getting this fixed.. Takes me like 30 minutes to go through the files all by hand to make them work

SOE_Bobble was nice enough to send me the new UIBuilder. You can download the latest version here: http://www.eq2interface.com/download...fo.php?id=3418
Otherwise like he said it should be in your EQ2 folder tomarrow.

Does the new UIBuilder seem to be copying over a ton of the default files now when you guy save?
*Edit* Or I think all the files

Not with me...
Do you use the default UI folder and place your mods in a copy of it to edit?
If not maybe it updated your old files to have the version field?
I'm just guessing here...

I use a folder in the UI folder, which I named UIBuilder.
I just tried clearing the folding, coying over the default eq2ui.xml, and opening up the newest UIBuilder. I clicked the mainhud tab, went down the persona window, and changed the size of the window. Went up to File->Save.
Looked back in my UIBuilder folder, and there appears the UI.log text file, and a few seconds later, all the xml files start appearing...
Can't seem to figure it out.

Yea some times it does copy over a ton of on edited files. More so then the last version did. I started opening up window explorer to the UI I am working on and when it adds them unneeded files it put them at the bottom of the list and i jsut delete them if I ever save. This bug has made me rely on ultraedit so much more.

Yeah, that's what I do, since I always have the folder open, and just delete them after they appear. But, anyway... it's quite annoying

Since I have TONS of modified files when i'm working with Serenity I never really notice. However I do know that even under the old version of UIBuilder, that there were certain files that always seemed to be copied over even if I didin't modify them. Just opening default UI then saving it to a new directory made like 10 files.
I j ust tried the same experiment wiht the new one and it created 168 files!! Just opening default UI then saving (with no changes) to a new directory created 168 files. Yikes. Thats not all of them (theres about 225 in default) but thats a crapload and much more than the last version.

Yep, older version copied a couple, but that wasn't a big problem. But yeah, this, as I said, is quite annoying!
