background color

iam sure this is some place in here and iam over looking it some how on the searchs.
i simply want to change the defualt black background color on all the windows.
like the background behind the chat text and the background behind a window when you slide the bar rro show back ground instead of being clear.

the black is just harse i would prefer some thing textured looing like i have found on some of the windowelements.dds files but those jsut change the borders or the fillin on a window nto the defualt background.

Is this even possible to change?

asa example the penta complete UI shows a nice light blue background behind the chat box and other windows.. iam not very ui smart how can i add some thign liek that ?
