just thought i would give you a heads up on a possible lu38 problem.....i tried to get onto test pvp to check out the new changes and the game crashes at the load up screen every time. had to remove my fetish folder before it would let me log in.

I've gotten a couple reports that the Test server is now requiring some stuff I intentionally removed from the login scene slideshow. If you play on Test, you may need to trash eq2ui_loginscene.xml to avoid crashing at login. This may result in some odd screen sizing durring login since Fetish uses a larger default size.

I am getting a error that it can not load a file from the test directory (which I do not have) when I am trying to play on a normal server. the error reads that it cannot find:

D:\test\eq2\game\client\src\NCS2.cpp (1868)

Yep, same problem here after update 38. Logging in to character select screen:

Default UI works fine.

But if I login straight to a character, Fetish is fine, except for the missing part of Inventory window from today's update. And obviously for that problem I can just rename eq2ui_inventory_inventory.xml and use the default Inventory window just fine for new additions.

Same issue for me. The log directly in does work though.

Tried removing the Log in file and still got the same error.

Until Zonx has time to push an update simple Rename or Delete the eq2ui_newcharscene2.xml file from the Fetish Directory. You may experience odd positioning of the Character Select / Create screens until an update comes but at least they won't crash the game and they are functional.

The other work around of course is to log directly into a specific character, as mentioned above.

I was getting the same problem as some of the other recent posters with crashing on char login, removing the above file fixed it for now. Seems to be a good work around.

cant invite to a challenge in legend of norath with the start window of lon

cant use items from hotbars

cant login to the charblabla

First of all, thank you for creating fetish UI. I truly love this UI.

Here is the exact error and I have confirmed that it is definatly the Fetish UI causing this error. I will explain how I did that.

To be as specific as possable there is the exact error...

Here is how I verified this error being caused by Fetish UI:

First I ran full scan from EQ2, error still showed.

Next I checked SOE website for the bug and was unable to find it so I called SOE tech support.

SOE sent me an email telling me which files to delete and let everquest re-download in patcher.

After doing that I still got the error so I fowarded to SOE my DXDiag, MSinfo32, and some other importiant files in the Everquest2 directory.
They got back to me to tell me it was a problem caused by running a custom UI.

At first I thought they we're just cheesing out and blaming someone else but when I deleted the fetishnightfall folder from my UI folder, EQ2 magically loaded up correctly and I was able to play again... but without Fetish Nightfall UI ;(

I said to myself, this looks pathetic! I need to get Fetish back on here. Now I went and got Fetish Nightfall 9.0 again even though thats what I already had and replaced it. Ran EQ2 Map Updater and the error is back. Now I'm deleting Fetish again.

Well I hope someone better then me at this can help fix this problem. Wish I had Fetish working!!

Yeah I quoted all of it. Now read just a few post above yours. Delete eq2ui_newcharscene2.xml and it will work fine. Its a single file. And btw not just fetish does this but a few others have done it.

When this weeks upgrade poped i cant start the game because of a missing window. Window name is NC52Slideshow. I thought that Nightfall 9.1 should fix that but it didnt, can anyone who knows theese things help me with this prob?

I moved the file eq2ui_newcharscene2.xml away from fetich directory and still i cant enter game because of same error message.

EQ2 crashes when I go to Character Select.

The new Appearance tab is non-existent.

By loading in the Default UI (Ugh!!! What a disaster!! Reminds me of EQ1) I was able to use the appearance tab there. When coming back I usually have to /Load_uisettings to get my hot bars back. Also the merchant window then complains that my bags are overloaded. Exiting the game and coming back in solves that.

When I set the Sound with the EQII tab it is forgotten when I exit the game and come back in.

I don't know what I would do if Fetish Nightfall were to stop working!

I did get the Character Select to work by removing eq2ui_newcharscene2.xml to a temporary storage, but the CS screen is bad. It is out of alignment.

If you're still crashing at character select you have not installed 9.1 properly. This update includes eq2ui_newcharscene2.xml dated 9/14/2007.

I reinstalled 9.1 properly and i still get the same error before characterselection at startup. I still have to delet/rename eq2ui_newcharscene2.xml to be able to log in properly, strange but true

Make sure you're doing a completely fresh install and not just adding 9.1 over 9.0.

I installed 9.1 and everything works grand! Once again a wonderful UI and thanks for the timely update.

Oh, and I just did as I usually do, renamed the old FetishNightfall directory, unzipped 9.1 into my EQ2 directory and then ran the map updater. No problems!

I'd bet good money you do not have a copy of eq2ui_newcharscene2.xml dated 9/14/2007 in your FetishNightfall directory... which would indicate you did not install the update properly. Its a common mistakes to select the UI or Fetish directory when extracting. Extract directly to the Everquest II directory.

Does anyone know how to get the persona bar to stay up i have to hit p and toggle it open everytime i log in am i doing something wrong?

also is there a way to set the sound options (turn off combat an game music)

and lastly is there a way to set the level for the the graphic options (raid great ect buttons on the option icon)

Not really a bug but something that might have been overlooked:

The Examine, Quest & Active windows were all updated to show the most current path to EQ2i but the Active Bottom and Top versions might not have been.

Upon further review, here are the 3 versions of the active window in the latest FNF v9.1 release:

eq2ui_journals_active.xml (8-1-07)
_top_eq2ui_journals_active.xml (12-4-06)
_bottom_eq2ui_journals_active.xml (12-4-06)

By those dates it would appear that the Top & Bottom wouldn't include the search buttons at all?

Also, the Customization thread shows the _top file as the actual default file and a different file called _simple...ok, now I'm confused

Not a huge problem but the UI does not save my sound settings. Everytime I log in I have to re-adjust the sound levels in order to hear the game.

Other than that thank you for such a awesome UI, I just love using it!
