Default Quick Cast buttons

Could be that I missed it in the sticky guide but when I edit I see the Quick cast buttons next to the cure buttons. The ones that say Click # 1, Click #2 , so on..

I have a few questions.

1. Lets say my spell name is Malevolent Diatribe VIII the correct line would be usabilityonplayer SELECTED "Malevolent Diatribe VIII" ?

2. Also ..how do i actually use these? its prolly a really a stupid question but assuming its a Click 2 cast time thing?

1. Correct. Wrapping quotes around the spell name is the best way to do it.

2. The quick buttons appear over top of group/raid members health bars. You simply click the corresponding button to use them.

What could be the problem if I can't see the numbers in the quick cast buttons? Everything else works fine.

I use the "clean font"-UI http://www.eq2interface.com/download...Cleanfont.html ... can this cause the problem?

That is most likely the problem yes. I'd have to dig into it a little more to give you a possible fix. Only just quickly checking the forums atm.

OK .. I solved it the "eq2ui_fonts.xml" from clean-font was the problem, now it works with numbers

Default Group quick cast calls POI

Let me start off by thanking you for all the great work you have done in developing the various pieces-parts for our UIs. I'm currently using a number of your UI pieces in my modified ProfitUI. The one that is giving me a fit is the group piece.

When I try to edit the Group & Raid Click Button Settings, the window comes up and looks good. When I click on any of the edit buttons the Submit POI window pops up. HUH! I can cancel the POI window, but the Group-Raid window can't be closed/saved. I wind up having to camp to character select to get the window to go away.

It would appear that I've not correctly loaded something in the proper place, but after combing through the various post on the Group quick cast window, and trying several things that looked like they might fix my problem, noting seems to work.

I'm kind of lost and I'm hoping that you are another member has some helpful ideas on how to get this working correctly.

I believe drums uses a modified version of the submitpoi window to be able to save button functions in game. You would need those files as well as the group window to get it to work properly.

Indeed, use the individual download pages when you're going to use individual pieces. The files require the correct includes, as well as editing your eq2ui_custom.xml

I've made sure that all the the files in the individual pieces get loaded in the correct directories. It was the first thing I checked. I also made sure that the custom file is up to date. This is the easiest thing to miss and the second that I check.

I also have a problem with the infocenter that is included with the journal piece. When I open an individual item, I get a line of code that looks sort of like:

parent.parent.parent.parent.parent.parent.quest.file.txt

I'm not up on the syntax used in the UI, but it looks like it is some sort of recursion and that perhaps the count is off. BTW, the number of .parent statements is not accurate in this example. I'm doing this from memory)

Not sure if the two issues are related.

Additional info:

Make sure both of these files are present:

DrumsUI/Settings/DrumsUI_AddPoi_C2C.xml
DrumsUI/Settings/DrumsUI_AddPoi_ItemNotes.xml

As well as these 2 files in your main custom Ui folder:
eq2ui_popup_add_poi.xml
eq2map_ignorelist.xml


Also, you have 4 lines that are incorrect in your eq2ui_custom.xml:
<include>DrumsUI/DrumsUI_StatBarWindow.xml</include>
<include>DrumsUI/DrumsUI_EffectsWindow.xml</include>

They should look like this:
<include>DrumsUI/Settings/DrumsUI_StatBarWindow.xml</include>
<include>DrumsUI/Settings/DrumsUI_StatBarSettings.xml</include>

And the other 2 lines:
<include>DrumsUI/DrumsUI_browser_favorites.xml</include>
<include>eq2ui_mainhud_startbutton.xml</include>

You don't need these included. The favorites are automatically included in the browser xml file, and mainhud_starbutton should definitely not be included here.

They wouldn't be affecting your problem though.

Default Game text in quick cast buttons

I got the quick cast buttoms working fine, the only problem I'm having is I want to put lines in that got to group and raid say with the character name in it.

What am I doing wrong with this.
I've tried:
raidsay "Rezzing %T"
raidsay "Rezzing SELECTED"

both just send Rezzing %T or Rezzing SELECTED to the raid chat.

just use:
raidsay Rezzing SELECTED
You don't really need the double quotes unless you are using special characters. Putting quotes around the "SELECTED" will cause it to read like normal text.
Here's an example of a more advanced setup
raidsay "Here's a rezz for " SELECTED ". Get up ya lazy bum!"

Output: Here's a rezz for Drumstix. Get up ya lazy bum!
Note how the quotes are only surrounding the plain text, and not the variable for SELECTED

Default Problem is back again

Drumstix,

With you help, I was able to get the editor to do its job. Really cool. I also switched to a pretty much pure DrumUI with a couple add-in. I extracted it into a folder - DrumUI - using the file structure of the .zip file. It has been working like a champ up to the current update. I used the update tool and now when I click on the edit button I get the poi editor. I've gone back and looked at the file directories and files and they all look correct. Below is a copy of my eq2ui_custom file:

Not sure what I did to suddenly cause the POI tool to pop up instead of the click editor. I'm hoping someone sees what I did so I can get it corrected. I'm finding it is a real pain to have to keep targeting the player then clicking the hot bars when I need to heal/ward someone.

Almost forgot, it may be related, or not - when I open the group & raid Click button settings window, the close icon is missing in the upper right corner. If I go to windows setting and change the frame & title option to frame only then back to frame & titlebar, the little x appears in the upper right hand corner so I can close the window.

If your edit popup is showing incorrrectly, this file is probably needing to be updated/redownloaded: eq2ui_popup_add_poi.xml
Also /DrumsUI/Settings/DrumsUI_AddPoi_C2C

Thank you DrumStix, reloading those two files did the trick. I guess something took a minor hit during the auto update. I've now added some notes to my notes files on UIs. First thing to do, download those two files, if I encounter this problem again.

And once again, thank you for creating one hell of a UI. The only part I'm not ecstatic about is the trade skilling portion. I prefer the Brushfire module, but it broke with the last Expac. I'm adapting.
