First, thx for all the hard work.

I have found a problem withe map for the rumbler caves instance zone. It appears that the map is actually linking to the map for the pirate's stash instance zone rather than the rumbler caves zone. The map is totally wrong for rumbler caves, as are the POIs; however, if I remember correctly, these look like the map and correct POIs for pirate's stash. (Been a while since I was in pirate's stash, but it looks about right.)

Just wanted to let someone know.

i am aware of the isue and it will be corrected in the next version however i am real busy (from when my hard drive crashed).

Running EQ2MAP_Updater_0.97_Setup.exe is supposed to download and install EQ2map folder if it doesn't already exist. Tried and tried and tried, and that didn't happen, it wouldn't create an eq2map folder. This is because I already had a eq2.ini file created in order to enable antialiasing, and since the installer only checks for the existence or non-existence of eq2.ini, it failed to create eq2map folder and download maps into it.

Instead, it should look for eq2.ini and parse it looking for the lines you want to add, if not there, preserve the existing lines and add the news ones.

If you have a eq2.ini it reads it and installs eq2map in your current custom folder. I had a custom folder called dolbysmod and it installed eq2map in there with no problem because that is whats in my eq2.ini

Does your eq2.ini file only contain the code to enable antialiasing, for the Updater to work correctly it needs to have the correct call outs to point to your custom UI folder also. If you do not have a custom UI folder, and nothing but the Antialiasing is called out in the eq2.ini the updater has no idea where to put the new EQ2MAP folder because there is nothing in the ini file to point the updater where to put the files.

EDIT : FORGET MY POST .... I had the German version patched to US one. Found the post what folders you have to transfer to LP_Region_EN_US and where to place eq.ini and how to adjust the patcher.

Hi,

cant get the maps to work 8(. I dowloaded the EQ map uppdater. It patches maps, starts eq2 but still no new maps there....eg. no map for Nek Castle.

The patcher seemed to create a EQ2.ini inside my EQ2 folder and I also have a EQ2 map folder in my UI folder. Started the game 3 x throught the EQ map uppdater no Nek Castle Map 8(. What am I doing wrong ?

same thing, replaced .ini.. followed everything pretty much, and still can not get it to update, most would have given up by now, but others i know use it and enjoy it... please help..!

something is blocking the updater from connecting to the webserver to get the update. make sure you properly configure any firewalls you have.

I posted on the 17/04/2005, for some strange reason EQ2MAP was not working.

Then yesterday after the latest patch, I click on M in game and woah IT'S WORKING.

This map functionality is simply fantastic.

I just wanted to say thank you for all the time and effort you guys put into creating EQ2MAP, I've played with it for about an hour and I know that my game experience is going to be significantly improved.

When I press M in game, I get an Error of:

Everquest II has detected an unrecoverable error and must shutdown.

<verify> E:\live\eq2\framework\render\src\DDSTexture.cpp (195):
!"Unknown DDS texture flags"

This only started happening after loading EQ2Map. Framework 1.1 is loaded and patched to SP1.

Any ideas?

Before you direct me to the FAQ i have read and followed the instructions and still cannot get the map to even appear.

Firstly i unzipped the files directly into my UI folder as this seemed to be the correct order and changed my ini file.
Loaded EQ and everything was just normal.
Next i deleted my other UI to see if this would help...it didnt.
So i resorted to trying lots of diferent combinations and still nothing worked.

Im using the english version of the game,i don't think this counts as international however as i play US servers and my old UI worked just fine.

Also after downloading the patcher i got the error:

The underlying connection was closed: Unable to connect to the remote server.
This happens with and without my firewall being on...and i ALWAYS get warnings when any program attempts to access the net anyway.
My only worry is that im on 56k and it isnt waiting long enough to connect.

Anyways i'd apreciate any help on the subject.

When I travel through Rivervale, going to the east, the map does not follow me if I go along the north road. If I go through the southern road it switches to the east map just fine. I haven't determined where exactly it stops switching maps, but I just noticed it while doing some quests there.

P.S. I love your mod by the way! You are my hero!

I just downloaded the updater, and I'm getting a System.NullReference Exception when I launch it.

I know its not my framework, I'm a .NET developer as well. I took a look at it, but couldn't pin point what the issue was. Any clues?

I am having the same problem that Latheal had posted in an earlier post, game keeps on crashing when I press M and I get the following error message:

Nah sorry, I'm not getting the normal exception dialog, instead it's giving me the irritating debug window (Asking which debugger I wanna use, CLR or VS.NET)

No other information.... Debugging only shows me the assembly.

it cant get to the file lists for some reason, i double checked and they are both there so something is preventing the updater from getting the list.

The map is not showing up in game. I do not have a DDS file for it but a JPG instead. That is what the auto updater is downloading for me. I deleted the jpg and it redownloaded it and still will not show up in game.

I deleted my .dds files to check and see if there were any updates for them and the updater wont download any of them
