new default ui

i really like the new default ui for eq but it has one thing i dont like and it is the gold. so i thought i found the dds files that the gold was in and i changed it to silver. now this is where i am having problems. i save my files and start eq2 to check my changes but for some reason the files i changed download again and it puts them back to gold. is there a way i can make and keep everything silver for the new default ui?

You can not change the default UI. If you want to change anything, colors, whatever, you have to make it as a new UI.

On a side note: Would it be possible to get those files you changed for silver? I've had a UI idea floating around in my head for a while now, ever since we got the new blu ebackgrounds on Test, but I lack the art knowledge to alter the gold to silver.

To use a custom UI / Graphics with out the patcher re-downloading over the files just follow the steps in the FAQ for installing a new UI. Then just copy any of the graphics you re-color into your new customui/images folder.

ok here are the files in silver.. but please note befaore you use these i am in no way perfect.. also i did run into a problem with these after i saved them and all i fired up eq2 and found missing backgroud and missing boarders. no clue where they went or how they got this way so use at own risk

Well I appreciate you uploading the files, but yeah you're right. They are all messed up

Wish I could tell you what is wrongbut I know nothing about the art side. I just do the coding

hey Agathorn i fixed them and they work now without and blank spots i will upload them in a few they will be the same links as above. also im going to try and do the rest of the stuff in silver.. if you need them let me know
