Default Creating Waypoints in Game Map

I've conducted a search here and on the net, however I've not been able to figure out how to make Waypoints with the map while in-game. It took me a while to figure out that I have to hold down my left mouse button and then backspace to clear the waypoint field. I imagine I'd be able to copy/paste a waypoint (LOC) into the field, but is there a way to make a waypoint while in-game?

Agreed, /waypoint is much easier than using the field on the map. Some sites (ie EQ2i) have copy/paste waypoint mechanics that automagically insert the /waypoint in front of the loc so you just have to paste and hit enter.

A little more specifically. What I'm talking about is opening the map, using some tool (like the hand) on a set spot, marking/setting that spot as a waypoint (or point of interest).

I think all the POI's are submitted through http://maps.eq2interface.com/ and then validated and are downloaded through the patcher. Manually adding your own personal POI's would require you to edit the XML files... don't think you can add them on the fly as you could in EQ1

Thanks Drum, that confirms what I thought. As of now what I'll do is simply annotate a position by using /loc and just reenter the /loc as needed.

Edit: Having recently downloaded POI it has really helped me with searching/exploring.
