Default Windows 7

This is the non-tech forum which I need. I am going to do a clean install of Win7 and want to back up my UI. I use Profit, but don't know which files to backup so I don't have to redo my entire UI when I reinstall EQII. To back up the whole EQII file takes 9gig, I only have 4G. Thanks.

A clean install of windows does not require you to delete your eq2 folder but if you want to do so keep all *uisettings.xml the eq2 folder itself. If you edited any files in the ProfitUI folder you would want to backup those as well.

If it does not work, you likely installed it incorrectly. Always try a clean install before reporting bugs.

Backup from your EverQuest II folder:

eq2.ini
eq2_recent.ini
YourServername_YourCharacterName_eq2_uisettings.xml (copy all of em, these are your UI layout settings files)
YourServername_YourCharacterName_eq2_notes.txt (copy all of em, these are your Friends list notes)
/UI/Profit/ folder(whatever your Profit folder is named)

Those are about it off the top of my head.

You might also want your Layouts and your Keyboards folder from the EQ2 directory. (I have custom ones saved)

eq2_recipe_filter.vdl is another one which comes to mind now that you start listing them. Why not just keep the eq2 folder itself and only remove subfolder.

yeah you could get away with removing the /paks/ and /music/ folder maybe cache, and a few others... and you'll be pretty low in size.
