you would make the background transparent by editing the alpha layer of the dds files containing the pics used as the background. i think there is two different pics. One is the background and one is the goldish fading effect. you make them both transparent on the alpha layer and job is done. to see the image used, find the bag window in UIBuilder and see what pic is used as the image source
